Features of zoning of a one-room apartment in Khrushchev with an area of 18 sq.m.

The arrangement of small-sized housing is associated with considerable difficulties. Due to the limited space in such a home, it is simply impossible to allocate a separate room for specific purposes. The only way to create all the necessary residential functionality in such a compressed space is to zone the room. They create for such small apartments.

4 ways to zone a room in a one-room apartment

Racks - convenient for children

One of the simplest and functional ways- usage open shelving. So, by installing the rack perpendicular to the wall, you can visually separate part of the room and create a relaxation area, sleeping area or work area there. In addition, the rack can be used not only as a partition. You can put necessary things, books, flowers or souvenirs on it. Convenient for storing baby's things.

If necessary, the rack can be equipped with a place for a TV or stereo system.

So that the rack you choose does not seem too bulky and does not hide the already limited space, you should choose a model in light colors. A good option would be to make a rack to match the floor or walls.

Screen and niche

One more no less convenient option– zoning with a screen. This method is convenient because to implement zoning you do not need to carry out any construction work, you just need to buy a screen that matches the style and color and place it in the right place. Plus, if you need a lot of open space, the partition can be easily removed and then put back in place.

Wardrobe, curtains

Zoning with a closet - this method is identical to zoning with shelving, but this way you get a more closed space. To do this, you will need the highest light cabinet possible. They can separate the sleeping place. You can also put clothes, linen and other things in it.

Curtains are one of the most simple ways zoning. With their help you can separate any part of the room. IN limited space such a partition will need to be washed at least once a month. Another great way to zoning is to use podiums.

This method is only suitable for apartments with high ceilings.

So the sleeping place can be placed on a hill and covered with a curtain or screen. Or use another idea - .

In the same vein, the bedroom can be placed on the upper mezzanine. This way, you will not only separate the bedroom, but also free up space in the lower part of the room. Directly under the sleeping mezzanine you can arrange a compact work area.

Interior Design Ideas

When arranging the interior of a small apartment, you will need not only to create an attractive living space, but also to monitor correct use residential meters. You cannot allow your apartment to look small and narrow. To avoid this, you can use the following techniques:

  • Proportion ratio. In a small room, large objects will seem simply huge. You shouldn’t put a huge sofa in a small apartment or hang a large-scale painting. They will only emphasize the shortage of living space. Bad decision You will also use too small items - it will seem that you are saving on furniture. Plus, it's just inconvenient. So a standard dining table will look very awkward next to a miniature sofa. The best option will use medium sized items.
  • Transformable furniture. IN recent years There are more and more options for multifunctional furniture. These can be all kinds of folding tables, chairs, sofas or transforming modules. This way you can place all the necessary items in any area.

  • Ceiling height. To make it visually taller, it is recommended to use exclusively light colors. Not suitable for a small room multi-level ceiling and any decorative designs. To visually raise the ceiling space around the perimeter of the room, you can install additional lighting (this can be ceiling lights or LED strip).
  • Mirrors. They are ideal for expanding a tight space. So you can hang a massive mirror or even equip a whole one. In the same vein, you can place a wardrobe with mirrored doors along one of the walls.
  • Arrangement of storage areas. Even if you have a small apartment, you don’t need to turn it into a warehouse. Only the most necessary items should be in plain sight. Everything else can be stored in cabinets, cabinets, shelves. Many furniture manufacturers offer beds and sofas with a drawer for storing clothes and linen.

Color solution

The choice of specific colors depends on the interior style you choose. However, be that as it may, you should not abuse dark shades. If you are trying to visually expand the space, then you need to use a maximum of light colors.

But you also need to know when to stop with them. To prevent the interior from seeming dull and monotonous, you can add a few bright accents to it. These could be bright accessories or colored posters. IN modern interior you can even paint one of the walls a contrasting bright color.

How to furnish furniture

When choosing furniture for a small apartment, you should adhere to the following tips to properly furnish the room:

  • Don't buy unnecessary things. Learn to make do with a minimal set of furniture;
  • Try to choose items that are as light as possible. It is recommended to take sofas and armchairs with high legs. Hanging shelves, folding tables, chairs and all kinds of glass products are also appropriate here;
  • If the space does not allow you to allocate a sleeping area with a separate bed, then you will have to get a folding sofa. Try to choose the most comfortable model;
  • Use corner furniture. It is very roomy and allows you to make the most of every living centimeter;
  • In a small apartment you can install hanging furniture. This could be unusual chairs, a washbasin or plumbing fixtures. Such objects are mounted in the ceiling or walls, which visually expands the floor space;
  • Household appliances can also be installed on brackets or mounted in niches;
  • In small rooms it is not recommended to overuse textiles. Make do with a minimum of pillows, carpets and bedspreads. In addition, they will be an additional source of dust. Such an environment will not look tacky;
  • Don't go overboard with accessories. To store souvenirs and other memorabilia, you can have one shelf or simply store them in a closet. Only the most expensive and memorable items should be exhibited.

Lighting

Light is one of the most important issues when arranging small apartments. There must be a lot of it. It is much more comfortable and pleasant to be in a bright room.

It is best to place them in different functional areas different types lamps. So in the recreation area or living room you can hang one medium-sized chandelier. In the work area you need the brightest and highest quality light, so it is better to use spotlights there in combination with table lamp or sconce. You can also use spot light in the bedroom.

A good option would be to hang lamps on brackets. If necessary, they can be rotated in any direction and easily returned to their place.

It is also worthwhile to provide the ability to turn on and off different lamps separately. So if you need brighter lighting, you can take advantage of the full potential of your existing lamps. And if you want to relax, then you can get by with dimmed general light.

When choosing the design of chandeliers and lamps, it is better to give preference to options for metal, glass or frosted lampshades. In this case, there is no need for excessive brightness.

Decoration

Before you start decorating a one-room home, you should decide on the interior style. The best option for such a room would be. This style welcomes maximum simplicity and convenience. This way you won’t have to buy too many unnecessary things and clutter up an already small area.

In such an interior it is appropriate to use any modern objects. It is advisable to use straight, clear lines and light, restrained tones. The preferred materials will be metal, glass and other modern polymers. They can be combined with painting or wood trim. The main thing is not to overdo it.

If your apartment has a balcony or loggia, then they can also be turned into part of the living space. There you can arrange a storage system or a small office.

An area for storing things can be made from a regular pantry. There you can store not only kitchen utensils, but also other household little things. And don't forget about lighting. Moreover, attention should be paid not only to artificial, but also to natural light. So, if possible, it is better not to fill the window sills with flowers and figurines.

Curtains in such an apartment should also not be too massive. It is not recommended to use lambrequins or thick dark fabrics. It is better to give preference to light colors, Roman or roller blinds.

Don't forget about the auxiliary rooms. Among them is the kitchen. Often, kitchens in one-room apartments are very small, so you are unlikely to be able to relocate ventilation, water supply and other communications. Here it makes sense to focus on furniture. So in a small kitchen you need to rationally use the entire area. To do this, the usual kitchen set can be combined with tall column cabinets. They can be placed in a corner or wall niche.

It is better to place the dining table by the window. You can choose folding or retractable chairs for it.

If your kitchen is combined with a living room, then instead kitchen table you can arrange a compact bar counter.

So, with a rational distribution of plumbing fixtures, a shared bathroom can become much more functional. In the space under the bathroom you can arrange shelves for storing cleaning products. You can also install a shelf above the door for necessary items.

Conclusion

Arrangement is quite a tedious and difficult task. Here you need to use every free centimeter. Moreover, do it so that the room does not look overloaded and narrow. This largely depends on being competent. To do this, you can use all kinds of curtains, screens, podiums and furniture. Speaking of furniture, it should also be as functional as possible. In this case, it is better to give preference to medium-sized transformable tables, armchairs and chairs.

A studio apartment is a budget living space in which the kitchen and room are not separated by a wall. Suitable for one person or small family.

The bathroom in the studio is usually combined. According to the type of layout, apartments are divided into square (a room of a regular shape with walls that are approximately the same length) and rectangular (an elongated room).

How to furnish an 18 m2 apartment?

We have collected several useful tips, which will help you competently use decorative features in the design of a small apartment.

  • Furniture. The kitchen is usually tied to communications and moving it to another place is not the best profitable solution. How to arrange the furniture in the rest of the apartment? The bedroom-living room can be separated by a functional bar counter (it will also serve as a table) or a shelving unit that will act as additional storage space. Opposite the bed, which should be placed close to the wall, there will be free space for a TV or desktop.
  • Lighting. In order not to visually overload the decor, you should not use bulky chandeliers: laconic lamps are suitable, including lighting built into the furniture, which visually lightens the set. Floor lamps It’s better to replace it with a sconce.
  • Color scheme. Designers advise using 18 square meters in the studio. m. neutral light shades: white or light gray walls will visually add space, while dark ones, on the contrary, will absorb light. But sometimes professionals use an interesting technique, spotlighting one dark, contrasting wall or niche, thanks to which the room visually gains depth.
  • Textile. When arranging an apartment, it is recommended to choose plain textiles without small designs and patterns that split up the space. If you design the windows to a minimum, more light will penetrate into the room. Many studio owners, often in Scandinavian style, leave the windows without curtains. An alternative to such a radical technique are Roman blinds, which are lowered only during sleep. Carpets, pillows and blankets certainly add coziness, but their abundance threatens to make the apartment look cluttered.

The photo shows a studio with a gray sofa that also serves as a bed. Cabinets, shelves and cabinets are used as storage spaces.

Glass and mirror surfaces reflect light and make a compact apartment of 18 square meters. m. lighter and more spacious. For this purpose, mirror panels are actively used in partitions and on walls. To prevent the eye from clinging to massive elements, you can partially furnish the room with transparent furniture.

In the photo, not only the wall, but also the partition is decorated with mirrors. Glossy floors, facades and chrome parts also help expand the space.

Studio apartment 18 sq. m. seems lighter when white glossy facades are used. Do not neglect the space under the ceiling - cabinets that fill the entire wall visually raise the ceiling. For the same purpose, you can use hidden LED lighting installed around the perimeter. A mirror on the ceiling would also be useful: it amazingly changes the perception of the entire geometry of the apartment.

Studio interior design

To save space, it is recommended to use transformable furniture on 18 square meters. In design sleeping place often used lifting mechanism for the bed: underneath there is a wardrobe for storing things.

To turn the bedroom into a living room, many owners install a transforming bed: during the day it is a sofa with hanging shelf, and at night - a full-fledged place to relax. A simplified option would be a folding sofa book.

Ideal option for a studio of 18 sq. m. – high ceilings. This gives more options for arranging the living room, working area or even a children's corner. Great solution For this purpose, a loft bed acts as a comfortable sleeping place.

In the photo bright kitchen, combined with the living room. Upstairs is a hanging bed, which is used only at night.

Set up a studio of 18 sq. m. can be so that there is enough space for both a small sofa and a bed, but in this case the kitchen will become part of the “living room”. Zoning can be done using glass partition, textiles or shelving.

In order not to overload the space of a cramped bathroom and hallway, it is recommended to abandon decorative elements, crushing the space (patterns in decoration and abundance of textures). For storage household products and clothes are better to use closed cabinets. Designers also advise installing minimalist doors without frames.

In the photo there is a studio of 18 sq. m. in light colors, bathroom and toilet, tiled with white glossy tiles.

What does the studio look like in different styles?

Despite the tiny size of the apartment, the chosen interior style still depends on the preferences of the studio owner, and not on its size.

An excellent solution for loft connoisseurs would be to use mirror walls or cabinets - they harmonize perfectly with rough finishes.

For lovers Scandinavian style you will have to make do with a small number of things, since this direction involves minimalism with notes of comfort and an abundance of light. In a room with two windows it will be easier to achieve the desired effect.

The studio has 18 sq. m. you can reflect the features of eco-style by including natural elements in the decoration, and in order to furnish an apartment in the Provence style, you will need carved furniture and textiles with a floral pattern. The modest size of the studio will also play into your hands when decorating a country interior, and the rustic decor will make it especially cozy.

The most common direction in arranging a studio apartment is still modern style, which combines simple and at the same time multifunctional elements.

If you think through the space to the smallest detail in advance, using every centimeter, then a studio of 18 sq. m. m. will be able to please its owners not only with the originality of the furnishings, but also with its convenience.

When you have only one room at your disposal, you involuntarily forget about aesthetics, preoccupying your head with solving primary problems: where to put a double bed, how many square meters allocate a living room and where in all this chaos to find space for storage? Not to mention free movement. In general, zoning a one-room apartment is not an easy job. The good news is that there is no need to “reinvent the wheel” - just get ideas from our article!

Basic zoning methods

Owners of studio apartments can be proud of their homes, as open space, like studio apartments, is very popular today. They keep the number of partitions to a minimum, while the emphasis is on space and freedom.

But in order to harmoniously organize the interior, it is necessary to resort to zoning. This is a peculiar wand in the world of design, which allows you to divide a room into visible living areas while maintaining its functionality. You can use anything for this: from fabric to furniture.

Screens

Traditionally, ladies hid behind screens to change their outfit and maintain their dignity. For a long time, this element was forgotten - either because even in the smallest apartment you can find a place for changing clothes, or because of the variability of morals. But in vain, because this is the simplest option for a partition.

Screens are ideal for cases when you need to divide the space into two areas. At the same time, they are mobile, do not require complex installation, and do not take up much space. assembled form. You can purchase products that will fit into any style, hide part of the room from prying eyes, or create light outlines to decorate the interior.

Curtains and drapes

To avoid a clear division of the room into zones, you can use curtains. They are best suited to enclose a bedroom, creating an intimate, cozy environment inside that promotes sound sleep.

However, the effect depends on the material. For example, light tulle will only visually separate the area from the rest of the room, but will give it a feeling of airiness. More massive curtains will do an excellent job of zoning, but for small spaces It is better to give preference to textiles in light shades.

You can install a partition curtain on a regular cornice inside the room or create a structure similar to holders for canopies.

Plasterboard partitions

You can visually zone a one-room apartment using plasterboard partitions. They are problematic to remove if necessary, such as a mobile screen, but in appearance they cannot be distinguished from a permanent wall.

Plasterboard construction is cheap, lightweight, will not cause any difficulties during installation and has good sound insulation. It can be smooth, round, arched, helping to create unique design. Depending on the needs of the space, it is made bright accent in the interior or an inconspicuous part of the wall, which in any case will perfectly cope with the zoning mission.

Shelving and cabinets

We are used to placing bookcases and shelving along the wall, thereby “taking up” a huge part of the room. To save space and divide it into two zones, it is enough to place such furniture perpendicular to the wall.

Cabinets with through shelves are more suitable for this, but in the case of a closed structure, the back side can be made mirrored or used as slate board, covered with special paint. Items that combine several functions at once - modern solution not only for small apartments, but also for spacious rooms.

Podiums

A small podium is another great way to zoning a one-room apartment. Holders high ceilings can place a living room, dining room or office on it. But with low ceilings, you can only afford a bedroom, which requires minimal movement.

Such a height can serve as additional storage space, thanks to drawers. For very high podiums, it is recommended to build steps. The advantage of podiums is that they do not take up extra space and help highlight a certain area.

Sliding partitions

Created according to the principle sliding doors Such partitions allow you to completely separate an area or make it open. Modern products V open form occupy a minimum of space, and thanks to different materials, help create the right atmosphere.

For example, if there are no windows in the resulting area, it is better to choose a translucent surface that provides privacy but lets in some light. Ideally, such a solution will fit into japanese style or minimalism.

A one-room apartment is a solution not only for bachelors. A married couple with a child can also comfortably accommodate here if you choose suitable option zoning.

For small child you need to choose the warmest and brightest part of the room, which can be expanded or modified over time.

To be able to monitor the safety of the child, but at the same time providing him with personal space, you can use a regular screen, curtain or sliding partition.

Children of any age will love the children's ones on the podium, and the higher the better. To do this, you can purchase two-tier furniture. Transformable structures with a table crossing two zones will help control the child’s activity.

You can visually separate the nursery from the living room in a one-room apartment with the help of flowers. Often, children are greedy for everything bright and cheerful, so the children's corner will be easy to distinguish from the rest. You just need to make sure that the shades in the interior are compatible.

For this typical zoning option, any type of partition is suitable. You need to start from the features of the layout, design and desired effect.

In square-shaped studio apartments, it is customary to highlight the bedroom area with dense partitions, which practically create the feeling separate room. This can be achieved by combining different types. For example, shelving on one side and curtains on the other.

Zoning ideas for a 1-room apartment - photo

Nothing better illustrates theoretical material than completed projects one-room apartments that use zoning principles. By studying them, you can learn for yourself interesting ideas and verify the effectiveness of different solutions.

1. Wooden aesthetics in Moscow

In the Wood&Stone project, designers from Welcome Studio managed to combine two opposing properties - intimacy and openness. Typical one-room apartment 49 sq.m. turned into a proportional space, divided into convenient squares. The apartment includes the following areas from the mandatory “set for a comfortable life”: a bedroom, an office, a living room and a kitchen with a small dining room.

Zoning is done using wooden partitions, the design of which resembles blinds. They transmit light and are used everywhere, creating a holistic image inseparable from the overall interior. Natural finishing materials create a light atmosphere in the home.

Housing of this type can hardly be called a dream apartment. Small size and low ceilings only complicate redevelopment by limiting the choice of “tools”. But designer Alena Ganko was able to comfortably organize these apartments.

The initial layout required the dismantling of several walls, after which a functional zoning structure was placed between the bedroom and the hallway. It is at the same time a niche for books, a wardrobe, and also separates the seating area, making it as compact and cozy as possible.

Located in the same space as the living room, the kitchen is visually separated by a narrow dining table. The neutral color scheme of the finish is the perfect backdrop for bright pieces of furniture.

3. Bright apartment-vest

Designer Marcel Kadyrov turned this walk-through long apartment into a stylish studio.

It is difficult to design such an interior without resorting to zoning. After all, even in bachelor housing there should be comfortable boundaries.

In the center of the space are two cabinets that form a small dressing room. In addition to its main purpose, it helps to divide the hallway with residential areas. For the same purpose, several pipes with shelves are installed between the sofa and the bed - a shelving unit of an unusual design.
