How much does one sheet of corrugated sheet N60 weigh? C8 corrugated sheets - technical specifications, description, price

Typically, the weight of 1 m2 of corrugated sheeting is 5-7 kg. The lightness of the material is one of its main advantages.

In this article we will talk about the main advantages that can be obtained due to low weight, as well as the main parameters of some grades of material. Corrugated sheeting is made from thin steel sheets that have gone through the profiling stage - extruding longitudinal recesses using special rollers. To know how much a corrugated sheet weighs, it is necessary to take into account the thickness of the metal used in production.

The profile may have different shape:

  • trapezoidal;
  • wavy;
  • rectangular.

The weight of the corrugated sheet is determined by the thickness of the steel base, the type of profile (corrugation) and the height of the protrusion of the profile above the main plane.

Corrugated sheeting has high rigidity, and this allows it to be mounted without the use of additional frames. At the same time, the sheet does not sag and retains its resistance to dynamic loads. And due to the fact that the weight of corrugated sheeting 1 m2 is relatively small, this can significantly reduce the load on the foundation and supporting structures.

Corrugated sheet - sheet weight and associated advantages

The advantages of a profiled sheet include the following:

  • the specific weight of corrugated board is about 5-7 kg per 1 sq.m., while the same area natural tiles weighs up to 42 kg;
  • strength and long service life. Many manufacturers provide a 10-year warranty on their products;
  • since the corrugated sheet weight of 1 m2 is small, it is possible to achieve resource savings by lightening the supporting frame;
  • appearance corrugated sheeting allows you to achieve unprecedented beauty of the created structure, and due to the presence of a wide range on the market color solutions and profile shapes, you can bring to life the most daring design solutions;
  • The low weight of galvanized corrugated sheets and correct calculations can significantly speed up the installation procedure. In addition, when working with metal profiles, you can do without using special equipment to lift large loads.

As can be understood from the above, the high popularity of the material is due to its excellent performance. specific gravity, as well as performance qualities. The weight of painted corrugated sheets makes it easy to carry out restoration and repair work.

For example, when reconstructing an old roof, you can use C8 metal profiles, which, in comparison with asbestos cement, significantly reduces the financial and labor costs of replacement and reinforcement truss structure. And if we take into account the low cost of the material, then corrugated sheeting often becomes the only alternative option for installation and repair of roofing.

As mentioned above, the weight characteristics of the metal profile depend primarily on the thickness of the steel base. So, for example, with a steel thickness of 0.5 mm, the weight square meter corrugated sheeting will be about 3.8 kg. At the same time, with an increase in sheet thickness by 2 times, its weight can be 17 kg (this is due to an increase total area surfaces due to the shape of the profile and strengthening the material with rigidity frames). In addition, it depends on the wave profile and its height. Modern methods production of metal profiles makes it possible to achieve a reduction in sheet weight without loss of strength and reliability.

Characteristics of different brands of corrugated sheets

For clarity, let’s look at several of the most common brands of corrugated sheeting:

  1. H60 has increased rigidity and strength. This roofing corrugated sheet is used to cover fences and walls. non-residential premises, barriers, as well as during roofing works. This brand is often used as and permanent formwork. Along the main part of the sheet there are stiffening ribs that allow the sheet to cope with high dynamic and static loads. H60 is also used in the construction industrial facilities. To protect against aggressive atmospheric factors, H60 corrugated sheeting is covered with galvanization and a layer of polymer. Polymer coatings are designed to protect steel from temperature changes, moisture and accidental mechanical damage. With a sheet thickness of 0.7 mm and a width of 1.25 m, one square meter of corrugated sheeting has a weight of 8.8 kg, with a thickness of 0.8 mm - 9.9 kg, with a thickness of 0.9 mm - 11.1 kg.

  2. Profiled sheet N75 used for roofing work. The material is different high performance strength and rigidity, and thanks to the special profile shape, the sheets can withstand heavy loads over a long period of time. This grade of corrugated sheeting is used for the construction of horizontal and vertical planes that will be subjected to constant loads(i.e. formwork, interfloor slabs, etc.). Due to galvanization and the presence of a polymer coating, H75 corrugated sheets are practically not exposed to such negative factors as snow, rain and chemicals. This profiled sheet perfectly withstands long-term static loads. At the same time, it does not deform. Due to its long service life, N75 corrugated sheets are also used for the construction of large industrial facilities. How much does a corrugated sheet weigh? With a thickness of 0.7 mm and a sheet width of 1.25 m, a square meter of material weighs 9.8 kg. With a thickness of 0.8 mm - 11.2 kg, and with a thickness of 0.9 mm - 12.5 kg.
  3. Profiled sheet C21 They are also made from galvanized steel sheets (read: ""). In order to give the entire area of the sheets greater rigidity, they undergo trapezoidal molding. This material is used for various works. But the main area of use of the C21 brand is the construction of fences and various partitions (more details: " "). The corrugated sheeting has high rigidity, which helps prevent sagging of the structure. In view of this, there is no need to install additional elements in the structure frame. Due to the lighter weight of the material, handling is greatly simplified. Thus, with a sheet thickness of 0.55 mm and a standard width of 1.25 m, a square meter of material weighs only 5.9 kg, and with a base thickness of 0.7 mm - 7.4 kg.

  4. Profiled sheet C8 has a trapezoidal profile. The height of the corrugation is only 8 mm, which is why this brand is called a “flat” metal profile. This material found wide application in the construction of partitions and walls, fences and various light structures. C8 corrugated sheet is one of best types material for constructing a fence around a private plot. At the same time, C8 corrugated sheeting is not used as a roofing material or load-bearing structures. The exception is when repair work and the use of corrugated sheeting as temporary cover for exposed areas of the rafter system. Corrugated sheet weight is 4.92 kg with a base thickness of 0.55 mm and 6.17 kg with a thickness of 0.7 mm.

  5. Profiled sheeting C10 and C10-1100 are made from thin-sheet rolled steel grade 01. The profile height of such a profiled sheet is only 10 mm, and the standard width is 1180 mm. With a thickness of 0.4 mm, a corrugated sheet weighs 3.63 kg per 1 square meter. When the thickness increases to 0.5 mm, the weight increases to 4.46 kg.
  6. Profiled sheeting brand NS35 made from galvanized steel or rolled sheets of grade 01. The total width of the sheets is 1060 mm. How much does corrugated sheeting weigh: with a base thickness of 0.4 mm, a square meter of corrugated sheeting weighs 4.19 kg; with an increase in thickness to 0.8 mm, the weight increases to 7.9 kg.

A wide selection of shades and profile shapes allows you to implement almost any architectural and design solutions.

Modern construction is difficult to imagine without innovative methods using advanced technologies and materials. Not long ago, a universal material appeared on the market - corrugated sheets, which immediately became in demand in all areas of construction. It is used both for reconstruction and for the construction of new buildings and structures. When designing, as well as for carrying out repair work, it is important to know the strength characteristics and weight of the profiled sheet.

The main advantages of profiled sheets

The material is used both for the construction of private households and industrial enterprises. Profiled sheet is used for:

  • repair or installation of a new roof;
  • production of prefabricated buildings and structures, partitions, pavilions, etc.;
  • construction of frame structures;
  • for cladding wickets and gates;
  • during the reconstruction of buildings that have lost their appearance;
  • fencing of private and industrial facilities;
  • ceiling linings;
  • production of sandwich panels;
  • construction of light warehouses.

The versatility of the material is due not only to its low cost. The metal profile combines strength properties, lightness of the material, and ease of installation.

The functionality of the building material is determined:

  • durability;
  • good strength characteristics;
  • ease of installation and low weight;
  • attractive design;
  • environmental friendliness;
  • accessibility, ease of storage and transportation.

Weight of the most popular brands of corrugated sheets

The basic parameters of metal profiles are important both in the reconstruction of buildings and structures, and in the design of newly erected buildings. One of the main parameters is the weight of the corrugated sheet.

But for each profile it has its own meaning. Weight is influenced by several factors:

  • thickness sheet metal, from which the profile is made;
  • brand of corrugated sheet;
  • coating or painting material.

The main parameter influencing the weight of a corrugated sheet is the thickness of the metal. In reference books and on the Internet you can find tables showing dimensions and weight. This parameter is very important when designing objects.

If this characteristic is unimportant when calculating a fence, then it is impossible to calculate a roof without this parameter. It is important for calculating loads on rafter system .

It should be taken into account that the weight of a galvanized sheet is heavier than a painted sheet with the same thickness of corrugated sheets.

In a painted sheet, the thickness has a structure:

  1. metal base, often made of galvanized steel;
  2. a protective coating that ensures good adhesion of paint to the galvanized surface;
  3. decorative coating.

Painted material is used where aesthetic appearance is important. The polymer coating can be inexpensive from polyester or expensive from pural.

The weight of a galvanized sheet is determined only by the thickness of the metal.

Industry produces various types corrugated sheets They are labeled depending on their purpose:

  • “C” – intended for fencing and wall installation (wall);
  • “N” – used for structures that can withstand significant loads (load-bearing);
  • “NS” is a multifunctional material (universal).

They are manufactured on a production line with a continuous process using the cold rolling method from standard rolled metal. Workers set the required dimensions and configure profile shapes that have large assortment. What is the reason for the variety of types of corrugated sheets?

Wall profiled sheet

Used for the manufacture of fences, partitions, ceiling lining, building cladding, as roofing material. However, it should be borne in mind that the lack of rigidity of the sheets is compensated by continuous lathing and a large angle of inclination of the rafter system.

It is well suited for decorating buildings. If the building is not warm enough, then insulation is installed under it. Galvanized profile, or painted white, used for filing ceilings, making partitions for industrial facilities to allocate separate rooms.

Multi-colored is suitable for the construction of small pavilions and fencing areas. The fence, made of painted corrugated sheets, has an attractive appearance on both sides.

The most common are five to six types wall material. It is marked depending on the profile size S-8, S-10, S-15, S-18, S-21, S-44. For example, corrugated sheet C-10 has a profile height of 10 mm, and C-21 – 21 mm, etc. Thus, the marking indicates the height of the trapezoid.

The working width of the sheet varies from manufacturer to manufacturer and you should pay attention to this.

The length of the sheet is determined by standards and ranges from 0.5 meters to 12 meters.

Load-bearing corrugated sheet

Used on objects where increased strength characteristics are required. Used for making:

  • The formwork is not removable, which gives additional rigidity to the structure.
  • Interfloor floors that are affected by constant dynamic and static loads.
  • Roofs. Due to increased strength and thickness metal sheet, a lightweight rafter system is being erected. This design allows you to avoid installing lathing at all. Purlins are installed along the rafters in increments of 0.8–1 meter. This makes it possible to significantly reduce the cost of the roof.
  • Warehouse premises. Granaries, warehouses, production workshops, workshops.

The material not only has high strength characteristics, but is also resistant to adverse conditions. Galvanization in combination with polymer coating increases the service life of the product up to 25 years, and indoors this material can last longer.

Increased resistance to precipitation, chemical influences and a long period of use allows it to be used in construction production premises. At the same time, the material has a small mass.

Thus, corrugated sheet N-75-0.6 has a trapezoidal height of 75 mm, with a galvanized thickness of 0.6 mm, and a weight of 1 m 2 meters is 9.8 kg. Weight with a thickness of 0.8 mm – 11.2 kg.

Additional strength is provided by a stiffening rib rolled at the top of the trapezoid. When reconstructing the roof of a building covered with asbestos-cement material, recalculation load-bearing beams not required. Since the mass of 1 m 2 of asbestos-cement coating is significantly greater than the mass of the corrugated sheet.

Universal corrugated sheet

It is most in demand and used in private and industrial construction.

Used as a building material for:

  • Fencing the territories of organizations, transshipment bases, cottages and summer cottages. The fence has an aesthetic appearance. The strength of the sheets allows you not to be afraid of strong gusts of wind.
  • Installation of formwork, as well as as a roofing material (with a thickness of 0.6 mm or more). At the same time, the appearance and quality are not inferior to load-bearing metal products.
  • Installation of walls of warehouses and industrial premises. Due to the low mass of corrugated sheeting, the load on the support posts and base is reduced.
  • Facilities under construction. The color is standardized and corresponds to the RAL catalog. This applies to all brands of corrugated sheets.

Its versatility allows it to be used in all areas of construction. It has increased strength, which is combined with the low weight of a square meter of corrugated sheeting.

The table shows technical specifications depending on the weight per square meter and linear meter, depending on the thickness of the material.

Corrugated sheet weight table GOST 24045-94

When constructing buildings, it is important to take into account every detail. Such a characteristic as the weight of corrugated sheeting is of great importance. In this article, the mass of corrugated sheet will be discussed in more detail. It is worth understanding what the value depends on, how to calculate it, and why this data is needed.

The weight of corrugated sheeting is determined by several characteristics: the thickness of the base, the quality of the steel alloy, the shape of the wave, the width and height of the profiled sheet.
The composition and characteristics of the raw materials used in the manufacture of corrugated sheets have a great influence on the weight of such material. Production technologies do not stand still. Responsible manufacturers are constantly trying to improve them so as to produce corrugated sheets from light, high-quality steel alloys without losing high strength characteristics. The thickness of the corrugated sheet plays an important role in this value. The higher this indicator, the greater the mass of the sheet. Standard thickness corrugated sheets manufactured according to GOST 24045-94 vary from 0.6 to 1.0 mm. In addition, on the market you can find such material with a thickness of 0.45 to 1.18 mm. A wave (ridge) is a protrusion on the surface of a profiled sheet, and its height is the gap between two adjacent ridges. Sheets of corrugated sheets that are the same in width, but different in height, will weigh differently. Why is there such a difference? The lower the height of this material, the less metal there is per unit area of the sheet. In other words, the higher the profile, the heavier it is. The weight of the corrugated sheet depends not only on the height of the crest, but also on the shape of the wave. Produced sheets of corrugated sheets may differ in relief shapes; the waves can be rectangular, wavy and trapezoidal in shape. This value for a corrugated sheet with a trapezoidal shape, for example, will be higher than for a similar sheet with a wavy profile. Another characteristic of corrugated sheeting that affects its weight is its width. This characteristic of corrugated sheets comes in two types: working and complete. They differ in the size of the overlap width. Sheets produced in accordance with GOST have a total width from 646 to 1060 mm. The width of this material also depends on the height of the wave. The wider the sheet, the lower its wave, and the less weight the corrugated sheet has.

The ratio of corrugated sheet sizes and its weight

Most quality materials are produced according to GOST 24045-94. The document regulates the main dimensions individual species corrugated sheeting, including mass. Each type of profiled sheet described in GOST has its own marking. The first part of the marking is the purpose of the corrugated sheet (N - load-bearing, C - wall, NS - universal application), the second is the height of the corrugation. Below is a table showing the dependence of the weight of such material on its height, thickness and width.

Why do you need to know the weight of corrugated sheets?

As can be seen from the table, the metal profile is light in weight. For comparison, you can consider how much other materials weigh on average (1m2):
  • cement-sand tiles – 25 kg;
  • natural tiles – 50 kg;
  • slate roofing – 52 kg;
  • slate – 12 kg.

The strength and reliability of the roof plays an important role in the construction of a house. To avoid creating too high a load on the foundation and load-bearing structures building, it is important to make the correct calculation of the roof. In this case, the weight of the corrugated sheet plays an important role. When choosing a material, corrugated board has big advantage thanks to the combination of low weight per m2 and high rigidity. Even the thickest corrugated sheet has a small mass per m2. Moreover, even with its increase, the load will be insignificant. Thanks to such a characteristic as the rigidity of the sheet, the metal profile does not sag or bend. This allows you to significantly reduce the weight of the rafter system.

Advantages of lightweight roofing materials

For roofing The weight of the corrugated sheet plays a big role. The rafter system must distribute the load from the components roofing pie. Based on its weight, calculations are made for the design of the rafter system. High rigidity in combination with a low weight per 1 m2 makes it possible to reduce the pitch of the sheathing, do without the construction of a reinforcing structure, and reduce the weight of the roof itself. Thanks to this, there is a saving on the purchase of materials, the load on the walls and the foundation of the building is reduced. These characteristics make it possible to replace old roofs made of asbestos-cement sheets without strengthening or replacing the rafter system. When constructing buildings from scratch, it becomes possible to construct lightweight load-bearing structures and use pillar foundations exclusively for load-bearing columns. Eliminates the need for equipment reinforced concrete foundations. This significantly reduces costs.

How to calculate?

As can be seen from the above, knowing the weight of corrugated roofing is very important. In some organizations that sell roofing materials, specialists from such companies help make calculations. Or you can use special programs on the Internet. For example, calculations can be done using the MasMat program, or using a special calculator.
If it is not possible to use these methods, you can make the calculations yourself. To determine this indicator for one profiled sheet, you need to multiply its mass m2 meter by length. When making calculations, it is worth considering that in the tables this value for m2 of sheet is indicated for working area, and not for complete. I recommend watching the following videos

Profiled sheet is a thin-sheet material that is produced by cold-rolling with extrusion on it longitudinal waves. The latter can be in the form of a direct wave, a ridge or a trapezoid. The huge advantage of the profiled sheet is its:
- quick and fairly simple production;
- prostate installation;
- relatively light weight.

At the same time, profiled sheets, especially those of a high class, are rigid and do not sag under the weight, either their own or the maximum permissible for them. All this makes profiled sheets a popular material for constructing fences, installing garages and other utility rooms, as well as for roofing. When choosing profiled sheets important role his weight plays a role.

Profiled sheet weight

The standard parameters of profiled sheets are from 5 kilograms of weight for each square meter. However, this indicator is more than conditional. The higher the quality of the profiled material, the correspondingly higher will be the weight of the sheets that are made from it.

This is important! The minimum weight of 1 square meter of profiled sheet is just over 4 kilograms, and the maximum is more than 21 kilograms. Sheets with the heaviest weight are most often universal, but are mainly used for fences.

Roofing profiled sheets have an average weight, although sometimes the use of thicker profiled sheets for sloping roofs is justified. The profiled load-bearing sheet has more weight.

The strongest is considered to be the profiled sheet whose weight per linear meter is equal to (or close to) the weight of one square meter.

Indicators that affect the weight of profiled sheets

Each manufacturer indicates for which area the use of one or another profiled product would be justified. It is for the convenience of consumers that there is no standard sizes for these sheets.

In general, indicators that influence total weight corrugated sheets are as follows:

  • Metal thickness
  • Galvanized coating layer
  • Wave height

Attention! Modern manufacturers They are increasingly mastering the methods of manufacturing light alloy steel, the weight of which is quite light and the quality is high. Moreover, such material can cost an order of magnitude more than a similar profiled sheet made of thicker steel.

All profiled sheets have a certain marking, namely:

  • C – wall
  • N – carrier
  • NS – universal

Some brands of corrugated sheets

GOST necessarily contains parameters for sheet width, as well as wave height. For example, NS35-1000 is a load-bearing profiled wall sheet with a wave height of up to 35 mm and a width of 1 meter. The weight of each square meter of such a sheet will be 6.4 kilograms to 8.4 kg.

Typically, the manufacturer indicates the weight of their product on the packaging. It also talks about the weight of not only a square meter, but also a linear meter. The weight of the entire package may be indicated.

It is very important to know the weight of the profiled sheet before carrying out. The roof load must be calculated correctly, otherwise serious problems may arise in the future.

However, the profiled sheet is considered relatively lightweight material, therefore they are often used for laying on the roof. Read more about roofing with corrugated sheets. The article will help you perform the correct installation.

The importance of weight for the quality of profiled sheets

The weight of the profiled sheets is indicated not only so that the builder knows how many kilograms he has to lift, but also to determine the moments of inertia and moments of resistance of the profiled sheet.

These geometric parameters It is not customary to count, they are for reference and are needed only in order to correctly select the material, taking into account the tasks that will be assigned to it, as well as climatic conditions, in which the profiled sheet in the composition building structure will be used.

The moment of inertia and moment of resistance are calculated based on the length of the axes. To achieve the specified result, both axes must be located parallel to the planes of the upper and lower flanges of the profile. These parameters are also indicated in the extension of each profiled sheet.

In general, when choosing a profiled sheet, you need to take into account not only the markings (H, NS, C), but also its weight. For example, a difference in sheet thickness of 1 millimeter gives a difference in weight of more than 16 kilograms. Thus, the profiled sheet NS35-1000 has a thickness of 0.4 to 0.8 millimeters, and the minimum weight of each square meter does not even reach 4.5 kilograms. Whereas H153-840 has maximum thickness 1.5 mm, and weight more than 21 kilograms.

During construction various buildings and structures it is very important to take into account the mass building materials, especially when constructing a roof, because in addition to its own weight, it must withstand loads from wind, snow and water during rain. If the roof covering is made of profiled steel, then you need to know the weight of the profiled sheet. In addition, it is necessary to understand what factors this value depends on and why it is needed.

The weight of the profiled sheet depends on several factors:

  • features of the steel alloy;
  • material thickness;
  • profile configurations;
  • dimensions of the sheet itself.

The weight of the product is influenced by the following factors:

  1. The weight characteristics of the profiled sheet largely depend on the characteristics and composition of the raw materials used for its manufacture. The production technology of this material is constantly being improved, the composition of the alloy is improving, which makes it possible to obtain a lighter product without losing its technical characteristics.
  2. Another condition that affects the weight of the product is its thickness. The greater the thickness, the greater the mass of one sheet. This sheet material is produced in accordance with GOST number 24045-94, in accordance with which profile sheets they are made with a thickness in the range of 0.06-0.1 cm. However, some manufacturers produce products with a thickness of 0.045-1.018 cm.
  3. Also, the weight of the corrugated sheet depends on the height and pitch of the ridge. If two products of the same dimensions and steel thickness have different characteristics of the height and pitch of the ridge, then the weight of these elements will be different. This happens because with a higher profile there is a larger amount of sheet steel per unit area, and therefore the weight of the product increases.
  4. Also, the mass of the material depends on the wave configuration. The profile can be of a regular wave-like shape, made in a trapezoid or rectangular. Thus, a sheet with a wavy corrugation will have less mass than a product with a trapezoidal profile configuration.
  5. The weight of the corrugated sheet depends on the width of the product. Moreover, it is worth considering that this value is indicated in two versions: full and working. The last of them is given taking into account the overlap of sheets. According to GOST, sheets with a width from 64.6 cm to 106.0 cm are produced. The manufacturer himself made sure that the wide sheets were not very heavy, therefore, the wider the sheet, the lower the wave height.

The need to determine the mass of the material

It is especially important to know the weight of the profiled product if you are going to cover the roof with this material. Knowing how much corrugated sheeting weighs is necessary in order to calculate the load from the roof on the foundation and load-bearing structures of the building. To execute necessary calculations and determine the required values, you need to know exactly how much the corrugated sheet weighs.

When choosing a roof covering, very often the choice is made in favor of a profiled product, since it is quite strong, durable and light in weight. One m2 of corrugated sheeting (even the thickest) gives minimal load on the roof and other structures of the building. Due to the high rigidity of the metal profile, the coating will not sag or deform under snow and wind loads. Due to the low weight, the load on the rafter system is reduced.

Sheet dimensions and weight

The highest quality corrugated sheeting is manufactured in accordance with GOST number 24045-94. In this regulatory document the main dimensions of the metal profile and its weight are regulated. Each type of profiled product has its own marking. The first letter in the designation indicates the scope of use of the material, for example, C - wall, N - load-bearing, NS - universal. For letter designation follows a number that indicates the height of the profile corrugation.

As can be seen from the table above, C8 corrugated sheeting, whose weight is minimal, is the lightest among the profiled sheets. In general, the weight of 1 m2 of metal profile is not so large when compared with other roofing coverings:

  • the weight of 1m2 of cement-sand piece tiles is 25 kg;
  • mass per square meter roofing slate equal to 12 kg;
  • the required amount of natural tiles to cover one square of roofing weighs 50 kg;
  • If you compare slate roofing and corrugated sheets, the weight of the first covering is much greater and amounts to 52 kg.

That is why, if the question arises of which lightweight roofing material to choose so as not to unnecessarily load the rafter system and load-bearing structures of the building, the choice falls on a metal profile.

As you can see, among all the advantages that corrugated sheeting has, weight and rigidity can be called the main ones. However, when choosing roofing sheeting there is no need to give preference to the sheet with the greatest thickness. It is necessary to maintain a balance of the necessary rigidity and sufficient lightness. For utility and one-story buildings, you can choose a product with a thickness in the range of 0.05-0.06 cm. The roof of a two-story private house can be covered with a metal profile 0.07-0.08 cm thick.
