Scheme of regular glass closers on Lada Priora. Glass closer for Lada Priora

In this case, we will consider the issue of installing door closers on a Lada Priora car. It is well known that such regular closers are already present on the car, but their functions are limited. With their help, you can lower and raise the windows, placing or removing the car from the alarm. All this is done with the help of buttons, and this is done only simultaneously with the ignition on. Which, you see, is not very convenient. Sometimes you can, quite by accident, forget and leave the car with the windows open.

Therefore, it would be quite useful that when arming the alarm, all windows of the car were automatically locked. And the power windows would clearly work even with the ignition off.

The solution to the problem turns out to be quite simple. The closer Master v1.10 will help us with this. With his help, this problem will be solved.

It is worth noting right away that the price of this door closer is not very high, only about 700 rubles. And to install it, you do not need to touch the door trim at all. And if only one of its two functions is needed, then the whole work will take a maximum of 5-10 minutes. You don't even have to touch the stock wires.

The sequence of installation of door closers on the Lada Priora.

– First you need to unscrew the two screws on the door trim.

- Then, with a little effort, you must carefully remove the lining itself.

– After that, you should slightly bend the thermal and sound insulation in this place.

- And finally, we replace the standard connector with the connectors of the closer to be installed.

Everything. This is quite enough. Now all windows on the doors of your car will be securely closed immediately after arming it.

But that is not all. You can add to this the function of turning off the closer so that the windows remain ajar. This will be needed, for example, when ventilating the car interior. But we'll talk about this another time.

After I once forgot the car in the parking lot with the passenger window open, it was decided to install an automatic closer that would raise all the windows when arming. On the Internet, I found a lot of offers from different manufacturers, including devices with glass position memory. This functionality seemed redundant to me - the main selection criteria were ease of installation and minimal intervention in the car's wiring, the ability to connect an external alarm, the ability to fully open and close the window from the passenger compartment with a short press of a button. The presence of other possibilities was welcomed, but not required. Among all devices, I paid attention to the MASTER 1.22 door closer, which fully met my requirements and had many interesting features in addition to the required glass finishing function:

  • external and standard alarms can control the door closer;
  • operation of power windows for 30 minutes after turning off the ignition;
  • lowering and raising windows by a short press of a button on the driver's door;
  • control of external devices, for example, turning off the radio when arming;
  • control of the number of flashes of the turn signals with a short press on the steering column switch of the direction indicators (from 3 to 12 flashes);
  • giving an audible signal when arming with the included dimensions;
  • the ability to quickly configure functions by programming from the mirror control panel on the driver's door;
  • very quick installation for working with a standard alarm, the device is installed in the break of the driver's door harness connector - interaction with the Lada Priora electrical package is carried out via the LIN digital bus.

It was decided to stop at this option. It was very captivating that this closer was made specifically for Lada Priora. Today we will install the closer "MASTER" 1.22 from the city of Togliatti.

First, we will check the operation of the door closer with a standard alarm. We isolate all the wires of the closer - at this stage we need only two of its connectors.

Using a Phillips screwdriver, unscrew the two screws securing the plastic trim on the driver's door sill.

We remove the threshold lining, starting from the side where it was screwed on, its other part is attached to the caps - just pull, and it snaps off.

The harness connector we need is located directly under the hood opening handle.

We press the latch on one of the halves of the connector and disconnect it.

We connect the corresponding connectors of the closer to the gap of this harness.

We check the operation of the door closer from the standard alarm. If everything functions as expected, then you can start connecting all other functions or leave everything as it is, if the functionality suits you - in this case, put the threshold back and skip the rest of the text.

Let's start with the control of the radio - it should turn off when arming. I already - then the control from the ignition switch was made. When the ignition was turned off, the radio turned off, which was not very convenient. For example, when waiting in a car with the engine turned off, it was necessary to keep the ignition on.

For ease of connection, I used special terminal connectors. They allow you to connect wires without removing the insulation, and also allow you to connect to any wire without breaking it. After fixing the wires, you need to press the metal knife with pliers until it stops - it will cut the insulation and connect the wires. Then you need to snap the knife contact with a plastic plug. Convenient and fast, you just need to make sure that the wire falls under the knife during installation and does not stick out beyond the terminal. After mounting these terminals, you can additionally insulate them with electrical tape.

All wires from the door closer must be extended so that they are enough to the connection points. Lay the wires so that they can then be pulled with cable ties to existing bundles. If wires with colors different from those used in the closer are used for extension, then make appropriate notes in the connection instructions.

We remove the tape recorder. Disconnect the power connectors and the antenna plug.

Both radios that I had in Priore had the following power scheme: the main constant power comes to the 4th pin of the ISO connector, and the ignition (power-on control) is supplied to the 7th pin. IMPORTANT:Read the instructions for your radio to make sure the connection is correct. This power circuit is needed to reduce the current consumption of the radio. If you constantly feed both contacts, the battery will sit down. We need to apply power to the 7th pin after disarming the car. We can get the corresponding signal from the blue wire of the closer. In order not to burn the closer, I used a relay to supply power to the radio. I only had a five-pin relay in stock, but a four-pin relay will do just fine.

We connect +12 power to pin 30 - we make a tap from the wire that comes to the 4th ISO pin. Power supply of the radio - contact 7 ISO is connected to the output 87 of the relay. We connect the control blue wire from the door closer to pin 85, connect the common wire to leg 86 - the outlet from the black wire of the ISO connector.

Now let's move on to connecting the function of the power windows without the ignition on. The same refinement is necessary for the operation of glass finishing from additional signaling.

We remove the right lining of the floor tunnel.

Inside, at the top, there is a black block - this is the power package control module. We need to remove it for ease of connection. Loosen the module fixing nut.

Remove the left lining of the floor tunnel. Unscrew the second nut completely.

Carefully remove the block. Disconnect the central connector and find the orange wire in the harness.

We cut the wire and connect the white wire from the door closer to the end that goes into the bundle, and the red one to the end that goes to the power pack. We isolate the connections, connect the connector and install the block in place.

Now you can activate the function of control over the included dimensions when arming. To do this, remove the fuse box cover under the steering column. To do this, turn the three black latches at the bottom by 90 degrees and pull the cover towards you. We are interested in relay K9 (marked with an arrow).

To connect to the size switching relay, you need to remove the mounting block. Unscrew the screw at the bottom of the block.

We pull the block towards ourselves and take it out of the niche.

We find a gray-blue wire in the area of \u200b\u200bthe K9 relay and connect the gray wire from the closer to it.

Let's move on to connecting the function of the direction indicator extension. To do this, remove the steering column cover. First, unscrew the lower screws, then all the others.

Blue and blue-black wires go to the left stalk switch. They are paired - can be used to connect any of the pair. For ease of connection, disconnect the connector from the switch and connect one brown wire from the door closer to the blue one, and the other to the blue-black wire.

It remains to connect the yellow wire from the door closer to your additional alarm. The signal on the control wire should disappear after arming. Preferably with some delay so that the locks have time to work. See the instructions for the alarm, figure out which channels are free. I have a Pandora 3100 - I used the CH1 channel, which is used to control the trunk lock and was not connected to me. For correct operation, I had to reprogram it using the VALET button. If you have any difficulties connecting the alarm, it is better to contact the installers.

Please note that the power window control function is disabled by default. To turn it on, you need to switch to the closer programming mode with the ignition on: quickly press the down button of the mirror control joystick 3 times, then long press the arrow to the right. Exit the programming mode - three times on the button down.

Other functions of the door closer are configured in the same way - the connection instructions contain the necessary information.

Ready to answer any questions below in the comments - ask.

The power window control module has several useful functions, one of which is a glass closer, that is, automatically close the car windows when arming. Today we will tell you how to independently connect a door closer to Lada Priora.

The closer on Lada Priora is popular because of its low price, ease of connection, and the ability to control power windows with the ignition off.

Connecting the glass closer to the standard Priory alarm.

We will need:

- crosshead screwdriver.

- five minutes of time.

Before starting work, be sure to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery.

1. Unscrew 2 screws on the driver's door sill lining.

2. Now you need to drive away the cladding, and then the standard sound insulation to get to the connector.

3. Then we disconnect the connector and connect the closer connectors to it.

This is enough so that if there are electric windows on all doors, the windows are closed after arming:

Recall that in the previous article we considered the installation of bilenses on the Lada Priora with our own hands. After installation of bi-xenon lenses, the light on the roadway will be much better.

Connecting a glass closer for ESP operation without ignition

We will need:
- crosshead screwdriver
- electrical tape
– side cutters
– knife wire flexible (stranded) 2 meters
– head “10”
- 30-40 minutes of time.

The door closer must already be connected according to the above instructions. To activate the ESP control function when the ignition is off, you need to connect additional closer wires.

Procedure:

1. We build up the red and white wires of the closer to the electrical package block (under the panel).

Now many developments in the field of car accessories are aimed at increasing the comfort of car operation.

One of these accessories, which is becoming more and more popular, is a device for automatically raising door glasses when setting the car on an alarm, it is also a one-way door glass closing module.

In the people, such devices are called glass closers.

The usefulness of using closers is obvious, the owner of the car does not need to check whether all the windows are closed before setting the alarm on the latter, since these devices will automatically close them.

Initially, only premium cars were equipped with glass closers, and then only in the top-end configuration.

Over time, many drivers appreciated the benefits of this device, which led to the emergence of universal door closers that can be installed on almost any car.

In addition, some car owners who are familiar with radio electronics have begun to assemble home-made devices that perform their function very well.

Glass closer - what it is, how it works

The car glass closer is an electronic unit that connects to either the central lock, as well as the glass control system.

Moreover, it is installed between the control keys and the electric motor that lifts and lowers the glass. So you can use this device only on cars that have a control system.

All modules operate on the same principle: since it is included in the system between the keys and the electric motor, the voltage that is transmitted from the keys to the motor in any case passes through the block. But during normal opening and closing, the module does not participate in the process.

As soon as the owner of the car turns them on from the control panel of the security system or the central lock, the control module transmits a signal to the device, and it powers the electric motor, which raises the glass.

The car accessories market does not suffer from a shortage of glass closing modules. They are mainly produced by companies that produce security systems for cars.

The most popular closer manufacturers are Sheriff, Pandora and Tiger, although there are enough other manufacturers.

Choosing car window closers is not so difficult. First you need to decide how many windows this module should be responsible for closing.

All this must be done because devices are being produced that ensure the closure of two panes, as well as four.

So when choosing, you should consider whether there are glass control systems on the rear doors.

According to this criterion, they are divided into:

  1. Simple single-function;
  2. Multifunctional.

Simple devices can only close windows when arming a car. But multifunctional ones are able to remember the position of the windows before closing and after removing the car from the alarm, return them to the same position.

They can also return the glass to its original position if it hits an obstacle when closing.

Some modules may have a number of other functions that can be turned on and off, in general, adjust the operation of the closer at your discretion.

But the cost of multifunctional modules is much more than simple ones, despite the fact that many of its capabilities may not be in demand, and it will be quite difficult to connect it.

Installing a simple door closer

The more functions and the number of doors that the module will work with, the more difficult it will be to include it in the car's power supply circuit.

Such a closer without problems can be installed by yourself.

From the tools you need a few:

  • Screwdrivers;
  • Knife and wire cutters;
  • Insulating tape.

First you need to decide on the installation location of the device.

If the car has only one glass control system installed on the driver's door, but also responsible for opening the glass on the passenger door, then it would be better to install the module inside this door.

If the systems are separate and located on two doors or the control keys are located on the center console or tunnel, then installation under the dashboard will be optimal.

Installation and connection.

After choosing the installation location, you can proceed with the installation and connection.

The module must be powered from the car's on-board network, so a "positive" wire must be connected to it, as well as a "ground".

Then you need to identify the wires that transmit voltage from the control keys to the electric motors.

According to the scheme attached with the closer, the wires from the module are inserted into the power wiring.

Each door has its own outputs in the module and they differ in wire colors.

It turns out that the wire going from the key to the electric motor is cut in a place convenient for connection and the wires of the module are connected to each end of the wire.

Thus, the module is connected to the glass control system.

It is important to choose the right wires, since there are two of them from the keys to the electric motor - when voltage is applied to one of them, the glass is raised, and when applied to the second, it is lowered.

If the module is mistakenly connected to the lowering wire, then when the car is armed, the windows will automatically open.

Next, you need to connect a wire to the door closer, which will transmit a pulse from the security system module. Moreover, an impulse is needed, which will be transmitted to the module within a few seconds after arming the car.

Different systems use positive or negative impulses. Therefore, before connecting, you should find out what kind of impulse the system installed on the car sends out.

Closers, on the other hand, are universal, so they have an outlet for positive and negative impulses, the main thing is not to confuse.

After connecting all the wiring, before removing all the wires, it is better to check the performance of the closer.

If everything is working fine, all that remains is to insulate all the tie-ins of the wires with high quality, and then remove them from sight.

The door closer is connected to 4 doors according to the same principle, only there will be more tie-ins to the standard wiring.

Homemade door closer

As for home-made door closers, motorists have already created a large number of different models that work well. Moreover, there are simple home-made devices, and some manage to create multifunctional sensors.

It is not difficult to make a simple closer, having little knowledge of radio electronics, and elements are also needed to create a module.

And you will need several capacitors, electromagnetic relays, a timer and several transistors and resistors.

It is designed to ensure their automatic closing when the machine is armed with an alarm. That is, if the driver or passengers forgot to close the windows, he will do everything automatically. If your car does not have this device, then we advise you to buy a glass closer. Next, we will consider their types, features, connection diagrams and other useful information. After reading the material to the end, you will receive comprehensive information that allows you not only to choose a door closer, but also to connect it.

Types and features of closers

First you need to decide on the algorithm for the operation of glass closers, their types and features. This information will help you make your choice in the future. So, let's start with a description of the operation of this device.

The closer is an electronic control unit that is installed between the electric drive (electric motor) of the windows and its control button on the car doors. When it does not work, passing command signals through itself to lower or raise the windows. And when the alarm and the central lock are turned on, it automatically checks the condition of the windows, and if they are open, the control unit sends a command to the electric drive to close them.

There are several types of closers, each of which has its own characteristics. Let's consider them in more detail:

Closer interior

  • Glass closers for 2 glasses and 4 glasses. Accordingly, they can be installed in cars equipped with two or four power windows. There is no fundamental difference in their work, except for the complexity of the connection. We will touch on this issue a little later.
  • Memory availability. The point in this case is that the device remembers the height of the glass before closing it, and returns it to the same level when the alarm is turned off and the central lock is opened. This function can be canceled if, for example, it is raining outside. The procedure is carried out through the interface of the control unit, and differs for each model.
  • The presence of protection for glasses and external objects. It implies the presence of a protective mechanism that stops the glass from closing if an object gets between it and the upper edge of the window space. Thanks to him, you can avoid injuries (for example, if such an object turned out to be a human finger), damage to the glass itself, as well as failure of the corresponding electric drive.

Naturally, the price of a glass closer will differ depending on the presence of the listed functions in it, as well as the brand under which the device is released. As a rule, the connection diagram of the door closer does not change from the presence of additional features. Next, we will consider this issue in more detail.

Glass closer installation

Upon purchase, the device package necessarily includes a connection diagram for the glass closer. Therefore, all further work must be carried out in strict accordance with it. The glass closer unit can be directly installed anywhere in the car interior. Most often it is mounted under the door trim or under the front panel. The main thing that must be taken into account in this case is the reliable protection of the device from moisture ingress.

To work, you will need the following tools:

  • Phillips and flat screwdrivers;
  • side cutters and pliers;
  • tape and/or heat shrink.

Now let's go directly to the question of how to connect the glass closer ... As mentioned above, first of all, you need to study the existing circuit. For ease of understanding, consider a closer designed to work with 2 power windows. Its typical connection diagram will look like this:

Depending on the case design, the module is mounted on one or two self-tapping screws (although there may be other options). In case you decide to install the closer under the driver's door trim, be careful when removing it. There are many different wires laid under the skin that ensure the operation of power windows and central locking. Directly for work, you will need a Phillips screwdriver, with which you need to unscrew the mounting screws and remove the trim (panel mounting may vary for different cars).

The glass closer connection scheme implies switching three wires to its module - power supply (“plus”), ground (“minus”) and a signal wire that is connected to the car alarm (together with the central lock). As a rule, the closer's wiring diagram has its own fuse. It is necessary to protect the device from a possible current surge during emerging switching processes or emergency situations.

Installing a door closer on a VAZ Kalina

The most difficult moment when connecting the glass closer is that it is necessary to make a tie-in in the wires going to the power window regulator. The tie-in locations can be seen in the diagram above. At the same time, it is important not to confuse the "pluses" and "minuses" on the existing circuit and the connected device. Otherwise, the direction of rotation of the engine, and hence the movement of the windows, will be opposite. In other words, when the car is set to alarm, the closers will not close, but open the windows.

As for the closer, designed to work with four glasses, the approach will be the same. The only difference in this case is more wires. If glass closer 2 uses three wires for power and control, as well as four for raising windows (two for each window regulator), that is, a total of seven pieces, then in the case of glass closer 4, their number will increase by another four (2 more wires each for each additional drive).

After you have connected the appropriate wires, don't forget to insulate them well. You can use for this mounting insulating tape or the so-called heat shrink tube (insulating material that "shrinks" under the influence of high temperatures, such as a portable gas burner). For reliability, both materials can be used.

Install the door panel on the car door only after you check the operation of the circuit. Hide the mounted wires under the panels so that, firstly, they do not interfere with the driver and passengers, and secondly, they cannot be damaged. To do this, you can use plastic ties, electrical tape, corrugated mounting tubes, and so on.

As you can see, installing a glass closer is easy. The main thing is to connect the module according to the diagram, and then carefully insulate the wires and hide them.

What to do if the glass closer does not work

The "ringing" mode on the multimeter

Sometimes situations arise when the glass closer module stops working. Unfortunately, its repair is hardly possible, and if it fails, it is more expedient to buy and install a new one. Especially considering its low price. However, before you put a "deadly" diagnosis on the device, still try to check the operation of the entire circuit.

First of all, it is necessary to “ring” the power and signal wires in order to find out their integrity. You can do this with a tester. Please note that a standard passenger car electrical system is 12 VDC. Therefore, the device must be switched on in the appropriate mode (in the English abbreviation, direct current is denoted as DC). To “ring” the wires, the multimeter is set to the resistance measurement mode or to a mode specially designed for this (on models equipped with a sound speaker, it is indicated by the image of a musical note, sound waves or speaker).

Be careful when working! Low voltage is safe for human life, but there is a danger of creating a short circuit during the test, which can cause failure of other elements of the electrical network, including electronic ones!

You can check the fuse in two ways - by measuring the voltage in the circuit or its resistance. In the first case, the algorithm of actions will be as follows:

  1. We set the multimeter to measure direct voltage (DC) with a limit of about 20 V (depending on the model of the multimeter).
  2. We turn on the ignition.
  3. With one probe, we touch the “incoming” contact (which receives “+” from the battery), and with the second to the “ground” in the fuse box or simply to the car body.
  4. If there is voltage on the “incoming” contact, then on the screen of the multimeter you will see a voltage value of 12 V (it can fluctuate within 2 ... 3 V in one direction or the other). If there is no voltage on the “incoming” contact, then it is necessary to look for an open circuit from the fuse box to the battery.
  5. If voltage comes to the fuse, then you need to check the "outgoing" contact. To do this, we touch it with one probe, and with the other to the "mass". If there is voltage, then the fuse is intact, otherwise it is out of order.

Checking the fuse by measuring resistance is performed according to the following algorithm:

  1. Set the multimeter to the resistance measurement or "continuity" mode (the second mode is preferable, but not all multimeter models have it).
  2. With the ignition off, remove the fuse from its seat.
  3. With one probe touch one contact of the fuse, and with the other to the other.
  4. If the fuse is intact, then the resistance value will be 0, in the "dialing" mode, the multimeter will beep. If the fuse is blown, then the resistance value will be equal to infinity, and in the "ringing" mode, there will be no sound signals.

If the fuse case is made of transparent plastic, then its condition can be assessed visually. In a working fuse, the wire inside will be intact, and in a failed fuse, it will be broken.

Circuit Check

If the fuse is intact, then you should check the power circuit behind it. In this case, it is impossible to give unambiguous recommendations, since everything depends on the specific closer model, wire installation method, machine model, and so on. To start, you must visually inspect the integrity of the insulation and the wires themselves, which go from the closer unit to the power windows. You need to inspect carefully, especially in places where the wires are bundled with plastic ties, as well as at their bends. Check if any of them are frayed.

If a visual inspection did not give results, then it is necessary to “ring out” the chain. This is also done with a multimeter. Approximate algorithm of actions:

  1. Figuratively divide the circuit from the closer module to the control buttons into several sections.
  2. On each of these sections, “ring out” the power and control wires (if this is not possible with some wires, then it is worth limiting yourself to a visual inspection).

In case you find damage on the wires visually or with a multimeter, try to repair them. In case of damage to the insulation, you can use electrical tape or heat shrink. If the wire breaks, mount a new one (with the same cross-sectional area).

Some glass closers need to be “trained” after installation, otherwise they will not work. Read the operating instructions for the device carefully.

In a situation where you yourself could not find the cause of the breakdown, go to a car service. If the closer is out of order, then, as a rule, they do not repair it, but buy a new one, since the price for it is small (we will talk about this below). You can order it in an online store, for example, on Aliexpress or domestic sites.

Overview of popular models of glass closers

We present for you an overview of glass closers popular in our country, which are installed by the owners of a variety of cars - VAZ ("Priora", "Kalina", 2110, 2114), "Hyundai", "Nissan", "Mazda", "Kia", " Toyota" and many others. For ease of perception, the information is summarized in a table.

We recommend that you buy glass closers manufactured under well-known brands. Do not buy cheap Chinese appliances, as there is a high probability of purchasing a door closer with a low working resource. In addition, there are many defective goods in the low price category. Therefore, we recommend that you do not save.

Conclusion

The glass closer is a very useful device, so if it is not installed on your car, we recommend that you buy it. Installing a door closer with your own hands is quite within the power of a car owner who has basic installation skills and knows how to read electrical circuits. Most importantly, before installation, carefully study the attached documentation, and especially the connection diagram. As for the choice of model, then buy devices from the middle or higher price category. They will be not only reliable, but also durable.
