The scheme is quite simple:

2. Wavy lines are drawn from the center to the edges of the largest circle. It looks like petals divided into several parts by lines.

It’s nice to make something with your own hands, and making wooden toys is even more nice. Today I want to show how you can make a wonderful educational mosaic with your own hands, spending just a couple of hours of free time.

The work required a hacksaw, manual jigsaw, sandpaper and PVA glue. And also a wagon of patience, since the material used was furniture board 18 millimeters thick.

So, using a compass and a ruler, we mark out the future mosaic. At the same time, we remember drawing lessons. We were taught by a very stern school principal, so drawing was almost the only subject that no one ever skipped. :)

To begin, we cut the workpiece into sectors. Then we divide each sector into four more components.

Now we need to cut out the base for the mosaic. For this you can use thin plywood.

Well, just a couple of thousand reciprocating movements and you're done!

We sand all the parts and glue the limiting edges.

You can sum up preliminary results and see how the mosaic is located inside the sides.

Now let's move on to creative process and paint our mosaic in different colors.

Watercolor was used as paint. This is, of course, not the most best option coatings for wood, but if you don't lick it, it will do just fine. At least my kids played with this mosaic without any problems. As a last resort, you can coat all parts with a safe water-based varnish.

Who wants a piece of “salmon”?! :)

The result is calm, soft shades with visible wood grain.

When painting, the pile rises, so before applying the next layer, you need to go over all the parts with fine-grained sandpaper.
