Top 10 cheap cars. The cheapest new car in Russia

Previously, only fairly wealthy people could afford this automatic transmission, since cars with powerful engines and sophisticated trim levels were equipped with such gearboxes. Nowadays they even install automatic transmissions on public sector cars. Including domestic ones! Today the minimum price of a car with two pedals is less than 400,000 rubles...

A budget car that changed its name three times in its history. Initially the model was called Daewoo Lanos, then Chevrolet Lanos. After which it received Ukrainian “registration” and began to be produced by the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant under the name ZAZ Chance. Frankly speaking, not only the name changed: along with it, many elements from Korean became Ukrainian - not without loss of quality. Apparently, this is why the completely inexpensive car did not become a bestseller - more modern “state-priced cars” from Renault, VW and the same Daewoo (I’m not even talking about Ladas) did not allow the noisy and crudely executed “Zazu” to take off...

But still, at the moment, “Chance” remains the cheapest car with an automatic transmission on our market. Dealers are selling off the remaining 2012 cars in their warehouses.

Engine: 1.5 l, 101 l. With.

349,900 rubles (+80,000 rubles to the basic version).

The VAZ “state employee” replaced the cars of the “classic” family, which had finally gone down in history, in the Lada model range - and became the heir to their glory. In every sense. The first modern Russian car with automatic transmission received a 4-speed automatic transmission from Jatco, which is a modernized version of the gearbox installed back in 1989 on the Nissan Sunny. During the year that the “automated” Granta was available for sale, it managed to rise in price: from 373,300 to 385,200 rubles.

You can’t call it a breakthrough: simple, or rather simplified, without any frills. It handles so-so, drives so-so, interior so-so, design so-so. But the sedan is sold throughout the country, the majority of whose residents cannot afford more expensive automatic machines...

Engine: 1.6 l, 98 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 385,200 rubles (+106,200 rubles to the basic version).

3. Lada Kalina 2

A class “A” car, which is, in fact, the third generation of Daewoo Matiz and ranks second in its class in popularity in Russia. It comes to our market with two engines, but the automatic, oddly enough, is available only with the weakest of the two, the 1.0-liter. But such a Spark costs only a little more than the VAZ Kalina 2...

Otherwise, the smallest Chevrolet is a typical city runabout. Very modest in size, without a trunk, but nimble, not a competitor in the competition “who is the first to leave the traffic light,” but more or less reliable.. Nice car for novice drivers without pretensions. And with an automatic transmission it is also suitable for representatives of the fair sex who are not too confident behind the wheel.

Engine: 1.0 l, 68 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 446,000 rubles (+30,000 rubles to the basic version).

A new golf-class sedan from the Uzbek company Uz-Daewoo, which is a redesigned version of the Chevrolet Lacetti model, discontinued at the end of last year. With a starting price of 399,000 rubles, Gentra has become the most affordable car of its class on our market. The basic equipment is by no means “empty”: there is air conditioning, two airbags, a height-adjustable steering column, electric windows for the front and rear doors.

Gentra is just coming to us, and it’s not easy to say what place it will take in our lives - there are few driver reviews. The Uzbek manufacturer has not been seen producing junk - there is always a demand for its simple but reliable machines. Another question is that competition in the segment for recent years Oh how I've grown.

Engine: 1.5 l, 105 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 449,000 rubles (+50,000 rubles to the basic version).

6. Citroen C1/Peugeot 107

The first in our rating are “100% foreign cars”, made without much regard for our market and our preferences. Therefore very stylish and very small. Like the Spark, it’s a completely urban option, optimal for commuting to work and picking up your child at school.

In order to reduce costs and, accordingly, prices, manufacturers completely unified the design of the cars (with the exception of some details in the design of the front end) and the chassis. And the pendants and steering and completely borrowed from the II generation Toyota Yaris. Since the beginning of this year, restyled versions of cars have been sold in Russia. As an alternative to “mechanics”, both cars are equipped not with a traditional “automatic”, but with a robotic manual transmission, which requires a special approach to operation...

Engine: 1.0 l, 68 l. With.

Starting price for versions with automatic transmission. Citroen C1: 471,000 rubles for the three-door version (+67,000 rubles to the base version), 479,000 rubles. – for a five-door (+23,000 rubles to the basic version). Peugeot 107: 484,000 rubles for the three-door version (+77,000 rubles to the base version), 494,000 rubles. – for a five-door (+RUB 79,000 to the basic version).

7. Renault Logan/Sandero

So much has been said and written that I don’t even want to repeat myself. In short - not particularly aesthetically pleasing, but roomy (for their size), reliable, easy to manage and operate. And therefore - popular in Russia. Developed by Renault together with Dacia, the Logan sedan and Sandero hatchback became the first models of the Romanian brand revived by the French. In Russia, Logan became a pioneer in the class of budget foreign cars: it was he who began to look up to the Hyundai Solaris and Volkswagen Polo Sedan that followed him. Last year, the second generation Logan and Sandero were introduced. The start of their sales in Russia is scheduled for the end of this year.

Engine: 1.6 l, 103 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 473,000* rubles for Sandero (+109,000 rubles to the basic version), 500,000 rubles for Logan (+151,000 rubles to the basic version).

*) Since March 2013, Renault Sandero Expression with automatic transmission is available only if you order the “Air Conditioning” option for 25,000 rubles.

The car is a fantastic success of the Korean manufacturer, which took into account all the needs of the mass Russian driver with certain capabilities. The budget car, built by the Koreans on the basis of the fourth generation Accent model and designed specifically for countries with actively developing markets, is sold here in hundreds of thousands. Because it is beautiful, reliable, modern. Suitable for a small family, it will take you to a not too abandoned dacha, and what else is needed... You want a more powerful engine, you want a weaker one, you want a “show-off” package, you want a modest one. The choice is yours.

If anyone doesn’t know, “Russian” ones are produced at the Hyundai-Kia plant near St. Petersburg through the full production cycle. The same plant in St. Petersburg produces the Kia Rio “co-platform”, but with the Rio “automatic” it costs much more than the Solaris.

Engines: 1.4 l, 107 l. With.; 1.6 l, 123 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 480,000 rubles for the hatchback version, 494,000 rubles. – for a sedan (+35,000 to the basic version, regardless of body type).

Cobalt - according to first impressions - is the same Logan, the differences between them are purely tasteful, while the driving ones are minimal. But unlike Logan, Chevrolet has not yet received the reputation of being “proven” and “reliable.”

Engine: 1.5 l, 105 l. With.

Starting price for the version with automatic transmission: 503,000 rubles (+59,000 rubles to the basic version).

The cheapest foreign cars to maintain

It's time to consider the cheapest cars to maintain (foreign cars):

Now you know which cars are cheaper to maintain. For some, this indicator is the decisive factor when purchasing. Of course, when studying transport, you need to immediately make calculations taking into account the period for which the car is purchased. Sometimes budget options allow you to save only for the first 3 years; then the car owner has to spend a lot on the purchase of spare parts and repair work.

Only a rational and competent approach will allow you to choose the transport of your dreams, which will meet all the stated requirements. On domestic market Several worthy models are presented. They will be an excellent purchase for a novice driver. A good car is one that doesn’t take up half the family budget!

Experienced Russian motorists, when buying a car, think, first of all, about its reliability; this is not surprising, because during operation many critical situations arise, from a banal skid to tire wear. It’s difficult to choose a car you like without making a mistake with price and reliability. Newcomers to this issue pay attention either to appearance, or for the cheapest car model without taking into account technical specifications, which over time will lead to high costs for transport maintenance.

Nowadays, prices are relatively conditional, so in Europe, drivers put the cost of further maintenance first, that is, when choosing a car, they add up the sum of the cost and further maintenance. Of course, finding a reliable and economical car is not easy, but there are criteria by which you can choose the most suitable option for each category.

Choosing a reliable and economical car

The main ones:

  • repair costs;
  • fuel consumption;
  • maintenance frequency;
  • maximum possible engine mileage;
  • oil change frequency.

To find out how economical a vehicle is, you need to look at its technical characteristics, which indicate fuel consumption in urban conditions, outside the city and in a mixed version. However, in the manufacturer's application only consumption without overloads is recorded additional devices, and at low speed. This suggests that you need to visit various forums where you ask people about their real fuel consumption. If we talk about reliability, then here too it’s worth first looking at the manufacturers’ documentation, although they also contain approximate data on the frequency of maintenance.

The quality of parts depends only on the manufacturer, so it would be useful to study reviews on specific model car, for example, on drom.ru.

Budget vehicles

The most reliable budget cars

Which car is the most reliable and economical in Russia? First of all, it is easier to find such a car in segments A and B, since these vehicles are excellent for driving around the city and also have all the necessary qualities. The price for a budget class car can vary from 300 to 600 thousand rubles. If we consider cars in the elite segments, then the price of their models goes well beyond a million rubles. Our list of reliable and cheapest cars is made up of new budget class models, which includes:

  1. Hyundai Solaris (Accent), according to the majority, it turns out to be the most economical to maintain. Basic cost 460,000 rubles. In general, Korean technology excels in the smallest details; everything in the assembly is thought out for comfortable operation, and there is no need for repairs in the first five years of use. The car contains a 1.4 or 1.6 liter engine. Maintenance takes place every 15 thousand kilometers, and the cost of diagnostics is quite reasonable. Changing tires is also done economically, since the wheels on vehicles are small. The most privileged model from the list, suitable for both the city and non-urban areas.
  2. He went far and Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. The car is one of the most economical in terms of battery life, as well as low fuel consumption. Among the benefits include reliability in its devices. Additional expenses are not required; annual maintenance costs approximately 100 thousand rubles.

Korean manufacturers seem to have taken into account all the needs of Russian roads. It is much more compact, more fashionable and brighter than the Chevrolet Cobalt. Such a foreign car of class A has a cost of 250–350 thousand rubles. A good package includes power windows, air conditioning and power steering, but the base version has nothing but a steering wheel and pedals.

The most economical, reliable and inexpensive to maintain domestically produced cars

We can highlight:

The models presented above are more or less popular. This does not mean that this is the end of the list of reliable and inexpensive brands. There are many other cars performing as optimal solution not only in terms of economy, but also comfort.

Just three or four years ago, the Russian automobile market was confidently one of the five most promising areas in which almost all global automakers dreamed of providing their products. A serious economic crisis radically changed the situation - many companies reduced their presence in Russia to a minimum or completely left its borders, as car sales fell by more than half the national average.

The crisis has led to the fact that the purchasing power of many Russian residents has decreased several times. Naturally, in such a situation, people clearly had no time for buying expensive cars. Nevertheless, some residents still dream of owning a car, although now they are looking for options at a more reasonable cost.

It is for this reason that the list of the cheapest car brands will be more relevant now than ever.

The cheapest new domestic car

What is most interesting is that domestic cars cannot boast of the title of the cheapest car in Russia. Lower labor costs in some countries, as well as well-established production, allowed their products to successfully compete with the domestic auto industry, even taking into account the costs of shipping across borders.

  • LADA Granta priced from 383,900 rubles;
  • LADA Priora from 399,000 rubles.

At the end of last year, representatives of the largest automobile company in Russia announced the release of the Priora, which will be available to customers for only 300 thousand rubles. If the project comes true, the domestic model will immediately win the title of truly the cheapest car for 2017-2018. It is clear that such a machine will have the most minimal configuration. However, such a cost will enable many Russians to become owners of a personal vehicle with the possibility of further upgrading their car to an acceptable condition.

Recently, information appeared that a proposal was sent to the Russian government to allow maternity capital owners to use funds to purchase cars. If the project passes, it will clearly contribute to even greater popularity of affordable domestic cars in the domestic market.

Cheap Chinese cars

It is the Chinese automobile industry that supplies our country with the cheapest passenger vehicles. High level The competitiveness of manufacturers from the Middle Kingdom is ensured by several important factors:

  • Cheap labor, which is used in the production of products;
  • No need to purchase components abroad;
  • The normal attitude of the country's residents towards blatantly copying the ideas of more successful and famous global automakers;
  • Well-established supply routes to the territory Russian Federation.

As a result, Chinese cars are distinguished by their availability and good variety. It is not surprising that in the top ten most inexpensive cars in our country there are six representatives of the Middle Kingdom:

  1. Lifan Smily – 319,900 rubles.
  2. Lifan Smily New – from 364,900 rubles.
  3. Lifan Celliya - similar cost.
  4. Geely GC6 – 389,000 rubles.
  5. Chery Bonus and Chery Very – 389,999 rubles each.

Rating of the cheapest cars in Russia in 2017-2018

It would seem that what could be more accessible than the Chinese and domestic auto industry? Nevertheless, similar option it turns out that it exists and is the joint brainchild of manufacturers from South Korea and Uzbekistan. The cheapest car in the Russian Federation is known as the Ravon Matiz, which can be bought for only 314,000 rubles. Of course, this car can hardly be called a full-fledged vehicle, since its dimensions are very modest, so it is difficult for people with large dimensions to fit into the cabin. However, the car drives and is economical, so many people are happy to buy it.

  1. Ravon Matiz (South Korea/Uzbekistan).
  2. Lifan Smily (China).
  3. Lifan Celliya.
  4. LADA Granta and Geely GC6.
  5. Chery Bonus and Chery Very.
  6. LADA Priora (Russia) and Renault Sandero (France).

That is, here are ten car brands that can be bought at car dealerships in the Russian Federation for less than 400 thousand rubles.

Naturally, a potential buyer may have another question - what are the cheapest cars to maintain? In this case, the list of vehicles will be completely different.

Rating of the most profitable cars to maintain in the Russian Federation

If we look at buying a car from this perspective, we can see that the list of the most inexpensive cars to maintain does not include representatives of the domestic and Chinese automobile industry. Cheap does not mean profitable.

When compiling such a list, emphasis was placed on the following factors that are important for every car owner:

  • Expenses for mandatory repairs;
  • The cost of preventive maintenance of a car;
  • Average fuel costs.
  1. Kia Cadenza. A South Korean business class sedan, the owner of which is forced to spend approximately 119 thousand annually on his property.
  2. Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Another bright representative of the Korean peninsula, the maintenance of which requires a minimum of 118.5 thousand in Russian rubles.
  3. Toyota Yaris. A Japanese car that will cost its owner about 200 rubles less than a model located higher in the rating.
  4. Honda Insight. Second Japanese in the ranking. Annual expenses – 118,100.
  5. Kia Soul is a very popular South Korean car in Russia. Requires 118 thousand annual investments from its owner.
  6. Toyota Prius Plug-In Hybrid. Another Japanese with an approximate cost of 117,900.
  7. Smart Fortwo. An original representative of the German automobile industry with annual expenses of 117,300 rubles.
  8. Cadillac ELR. Reliable and economical American, which is very unusual for cars produced in this country. However, servicing such a machine will cost only 116,100.
  9. Chevrolet Spark EV is an affordable subcompact car that requires only 114,000 cash outlays per year.
  10. Mitsubishi Mirage. Once again the Japanese auto industry is in the ranking. The cost of embezzlement is 113,700.
  11. Kia Forte. From South Korea. Maintenance costs - 113,300.
  12. Kia Rio. A South Korean for which you need to spend 111,200 rubles every year.
  13. The legendary Japanese Toyota Corolla. A total of 110,300 Russian rubles wasted annually.

Of course, such a rating can be continued indefinitely. However, the unsurpassed leader of any such list is the Hyundai Accent, which costs its owner only 97 thousand Russian rubles annually. It is not surprising that this particular sedan is purchased by many corporate companies and taxi organizations, since the car, in addition to its stylish appearance and good equipment, is also a very reliable and economical vehicle.

Instead of a conclusion

Comparing these two ratings, you can see one interesting detail– those cars that are offered to the buyer at the most favorable price, turn out to be not the most economical to maintain. What explains this? First of all, not the most high quality assembly, which leads to the constant need to perform repair work. And this is additional waste. In addition, the Japanese and Koreans are more expensive and reliable better conditions after-sales service. That is, the owner of such a car receives many services completely free of charge, while the owner of a Chinese or Russian car has to pay for all this.

There are several representatives in the ranking of inexpensive cars to maintain. Naturally, this nuance really reduces the cost of purchasing fuel. Unfortunately, these cars are still much more expensive than public sector cars, so many domestic buyers simply cannot afford them. That is, a person has to make a choice:

  • Buy a cheap car, but then constantly invest money in it;
  • Buy a more expensive option, but then really save on its maintenance.

New cars costing up to 200 thousand rubles are almost exotic, but they have not disappeared completely. Until recently, the cheapest cars in Russia were only domestically produced. However, now the situation has changed.

Russian veterans went to their well-deserved retirement, and in their place came new models that are more expensive than their predecessors. However, the niche of the most budget cars was still occupied by foreign cars.

Experts say that it is not yet possible to say that new cars price category up to 200 thousand rubles compete with each other in the battle for the buyer. Auto industry giants are in no hurry to produce cheap cars.

Now the cheapest car on the Russian market is the Daewoo Matiz. The cheapest equipment will cost the car enthusiast 199 thousand rubles.

Daewoo Matiz is assembled at the plant of the joint venture "GM Uzbekistan". Previously, most of the shares of the South Korean company Daewoo were purchased by General Motors Corporation. It is worth noting that many Russian buyers now love the compact Uzbek car. A city car is distinguished by nice design and enviable efficiency. It is worth noting that the design of the Daewoo Matiz was developed by Italian specialists.

This car has small dimensions, but the interior of the five-door hatchback is very comfortable. The length is slightly less than 3.5 meters, and the width is almost 1.5 meters, almost the same as the height of the car. Despite such modest dimensions, two adults and a child can easily fit in the back seat. What makes the car even more enjoyable is the fact that it has very good sound insulation.

Test drive

This car is well suited for family use. The Daewoo Matiz has a trunk of only 155 liters, but if you fold the back seat, it will increase by more than two and a half times.

In the basic configuration, that is, such a car will cost less than 200 thousand rubles, it has a 3-cylinder gasoline engine, as well as a fairly compact engine with a volume of 0.8 liters. This baby packs 51 horsepower. Matiz accelerates to one hundred kilometers per hour in 17 seconds, and maximum speed hatchback 144 kilometers per hour.

More advanced, and therefore more expensive, configurations have a 4-cylinder, liter engine with a power of 63 horsepower. With such an engine, the car accelerates to “hundreds” in 15.2 seconds.

This car is quite economical. In urban conditions, it spends only 7.3 liters per hundred kilometers. The hatchback runs on 92 gasoline.

However, according to experts, there are complaints about the car. The build quality could have been better. The car lacks wheel arch liners, the manufacturers also saved on several relays - when the wipers are turned on, they work without pauses. Therefore, girls, among whom the car is so popular, will have to retrain as auto mechanics over time.

In addition to Matiz, the same plant produces the equally popular Daewoo Nexia sedan. But its cost starts from 255 thousand rubles. The plant sells almost half of its products to Russian users.

Nexia looks more solid than the previous car. It goes faster and is better equipped. There is more in a minimal build than Matiz. For example, a stereo system, albeit without two rear speakers. Plus, the company added one spare wheel, full wipers and central locking. Another positive factor of this car is that the basic equipment, as a rule, is always available in sales showrooms. And if you need to install additional equipment, then you will have to wait no more than a couple of days.

But the cheapest domestically produced car is a car that, one might say, has not changed for decades. VAZ 21054 or simply “five” costs from 150-160 thousand rubles. Following this car is the long-lived market survivor - the “seven”. It will cost the car enthusiast at least 180 thousand rubles. But more modern model, “Lada” Samara - 2113 is already more expensive, from 220 thousand rubles.

Another undisputed leader price offer on the Russian market it is a Chinese “clone” of the Daewoo Matiz “Chery Sweet (QQ)”. It costs a little more than 200 thousand rubles. But if you want to buy a new foreign car even cheaper, then it will no longer be a passenger car, a two-seater pickup truck, or a truck made in China.

Tuning for the five

Another budget option for the Russian driver is Chance. Only some people don’t understand why it was necessary to change the Lanos nameplate to ZAZ. It turned out that previously, under a contract between Daewoo and GM, this car was delivered to Russia with a Chevrolet badge. But the contract has expired, and now car enthusiasts have almost the same car only with a different logo.

Chance has become cheaper than Lanos in a similar configuration by about 10 percent. But this is where the advantages end. In general, the car is the same, although in some places it’s worse, this is due to the build quality. The engine, made in Melitopol, the simplest power unit has a power of 70 horsepower and volume 1.3 liters. In power it is significantly inferior to Chinese and Korean competitors.

Today one of the cheapest foreign cars Russian production considered the basic set of Renault Logan. True, its price has already jumped over the 300 thousand mark. However, besides Russian and Chinese cars, the cheapest models were those produced in Poland, the Czech Republic, Korea, Iran, Spain and Ukraine. The list of the cheapest cars included Peugeot, FIAT, Skoda, Opel, Renault and Chevrolet. But it is worth noting that the most budget basic cars from Europe, as a rule, are so poorly equipped that they do not even have a passenger airbag or electric drives. But among the Chinese options there are models that are stuffed to the brim. For example, Chery Kimo costs around 300 thousand if it can be found at dealers. The car will please every car enthusiast with a rich set of options and modern interior. However, it is worth noting that cars from this manufacturer did not pass the strict conditions of European certification. Therefore, there is a risk for owners of such iron horses.
