Technoelast ekp top layer. Technoelast is a family of modern roofing and waterproofing coatings

TECHNOELAST is a roll roofing material"PREMIUM" class

TECHNOELAST refers to polymer-bitumen materials. In the production of this material, modifier polymers are used, which make the material more elastic and resistant to both low and high temperatures. In the production of technoelast, an SBS modifier (styrene-butadiene-styrene) is used, which is sometimes called “artificial rubber”. This polymer additive makes the material frost-resistant (it can be laid at temperatures down to -250C) and heat-resistant (the material does not “drain” from the roof, i.e., retains its shape in prolonged heat, even on a small slope).

TECHNOELAST is used both for waterproofing and for the installation of the lower and upper layers of roofing carpet of buildings and structures. Thanks to its excellent physical and mechanical characteristics, it meets all requirements for increased reliability and can be used in all climatic regions. TECHNOELAST is used where only the highest reliability is needed. As a rule, these are business centers, underground parking lots, hotels and other premium-class buildings.

To produce the top layer of technoelast, a coarse-grained topping (slate) is used, which protects the material from ultraviolet rays.

Technoelast is laid by fusing with a gas torch. The surface must first be primed with a primer for better adhesion to the surface. The top layer of material (with topping), as a rule, is laid on a previously laid bottom layer of roofing carpet (when installing a two-layer roof).

TECHNOELAST is produced on two types of bases: polyester canvas (EKP-5.0 / EPP-4.0) and fiberglass (TKP-5.0).

is a multifunctional SBS-modified, fused roofing and waterproofing material with increased reliability.

There are 3 types of Technoelast depending on the reinforcing bases used:

  • (polyester, top layer);
  • (polyester, bottom layer);
  • (fiberglass, bottom layer);

The purpose of technoelast is to install roofing materials for buildings/structures, waterproofing foundations and other structures that place increased demands on reliability in all climatic regions.

Technoelast is able to withstand both the cold of the polar night and the constant pressure of man-made groundwater. It is used in places where other materials are not able to provide the necessary level of protection against water. Technoelast is always used when implementing serious construction projects. It is where the highest reliability and quality assurance are needed.

The manufacturing technology of technoelast is based on the application of a bitumen-polymer binder, which contains bitumen, SBS thermoplastic and fillers, onto a fiberglass or polyester base. Protective layer use coarse-grained topping - K, fine-grained - M and polymer film - P.
Laying of technoelast is carried out by fusing using a propane gas-flame torch.

Technoelast is the result of double-sided application of a bitumen-polymer binder onto a glass or polyester base, which includes bitumen, styrene-butadiene thermoplastic elastomer and filler. As a protective layer - coarse-grained and fine-grained coating or polymer melted films.

There are 2 brands of this roofing and waterproofing material depending on the type of coating and area of application:

  • has a coarse-grained coating on the front side of the canvas and a polymer film / fine-grained coating on the surface. Area of application: installation of the top layer of roofing carpet.
  • has a fine-grained sand coating or a polymer fused film or combinations thereof on both sides of the canvas. Scope of application - bottom layer device roofing and waterproofing building structures, which include foundations, tunnels, etc.

is an SBS-modified, weld-on roofing and waterproofing material intended for the installation of roofing carpets for buildings (structures), waterproofing foundations, as well as other structures that require increased reliability criteria in all climatic regions.

The elements of Technoelast EKP and EPP are both the cold of the polar night and the constant anthropogenic pressure of groundwater. They are often used to provide the required level of protection against water and are always present where serious construction projects, requiring increased reliability.

Technoelast EKP and EPP are produced by applying a bitumen-polymer binder, which contains bitumen, SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) and fillers, onto a fiberglass / polyester base. The protective layer is coarse-grained (K), fine-grained topping (M) and polymer film (P).

These types of Technoelast are fused using the gas-flame method onto a prepared base using a propane torch.

Designed for both roofing of buildings/structures and waterproofing of building structures.

Technoelast EPP and EKP are produced by double-sided application of a bitumen-polymer binder, which consists of bitumen, styrene-butadiene thermoplastic elastomer and filler, onto a glass ester/polyester base.

Technoelast of these types is a material, the front side of which has a coarse-grained coating (ECP) and a polymer film (EPP) or fine-grained - on the surfaced side of the fabric. They are used to construct the top layer of roofing carpet.

Methods for laying Technoelast HPP

By analogy with other fused roofing and waterproofing materials Technoelast XPP is fused using a propane torch. After preliminary preparation base for gluing (cleaning the old roofing carpet, sealing all cracks and large chips using bitumen mastic or cement mortar) let it dry from moisture. The next stage is treating the surface with a bitumen primer and then drying it. Then the material is tried on by rolling out the roll on the surface and making cuts at the junction points, at the corners, in the places of funnels and hatches. The final stage surfacing of the pre-rolled roll occurs.

Technology development does not stand still. This also affected the construction market. More and more advanced materials are being created that have high performance strength, durability and reliability. One such material is EPP technoelast, technical specifications which makes it the most popular. This article describes what technoelast is and where it is used. Its modifications and composition will be considered, as well as what the letters E and P mean for the technical characteristics of the EPP technoelast.

What is technoelast?

Technoelast is a rolled roofing material that is characterized by high reliability, waterproofing capabilities and high strength. Thanks to its properties, technoelast can be used in any climatic conditions. Technoelast is used for covering roofs, waterproofing foundations, swimming pools, garages and other structures.

The production technology consists of applying a layer of a mixture of bitumen, SBS thermoplastic (and its modifications) and filler on both sides to a durable and fairly flexible base. SBS is an artificial rubber, and fillers can include talc, dolomite and other substances. The top and bottom layers are film or crumbs. It is the film that protects the material from gluing during storage in a roll, and it is also melted during the installation of technoelast. The crumbs can be either coarse-grained or fine-grained. Shale, sand, etc. are used as it.

Explanation of the abbreviation and main modifications of technoelast

Technoelast is available in several modifications, each of which has its own conditions and area of use. And the letters indicated in the modification are deciphered as follows:

  • The first letter of the abbreviation is the material from which the base is made. It can be: polyester (ester) - E, canvas - X or fabric - T;
  • The second letter of the abbreviation is the type of top protective layer. It can be: crumbs - K, film (or fine-grained topping) - P;
  • The third letter of the abbreviation is the type of undercoat. It also comes in two types - crumb (K) and film (P).

Depending on the combination of these layers, the Technonikol company offers several types of technoelast:

  • Technoelast EPP is a waterproofing material for various construction projects. Apply it as various types, and for waterproofing floors, buildings, foundations, boiler rooms, swimming pools and other buildings. In addition to absolute waterproofness, it also has high elongation and high heat resistance. EPP is made from which SBS thermoplastic and filler are applied. The bottom layer is a film, and the top layer is a fine-grained topping. If it is used as waterproofing for building structures, it is fused in two layers using a torch.
  • Technoelast EKP is a roofing waterproofing material that is used as a top layer. It is often used with EPP technoelast, thereby increasing reliability roofing works. EKP is characterized by high heat resistance and tolerates well low temperatures(up to -30 o C). The main layer for the production of ECP is polyester (which is not subject to rotting) with a layer of bitumen, thermoplastic and filler. The top is covered with a large mineral film, and bottom layer serves as a protective film.
  • Technoelast TKP is used as a roofing material for the top layer of roofing sheets. It can also withstand high loads, so it is often used as a waterproofing agent for underground objects. The rolled material has high strength, increased reliability, resistant to steam and temperature changes. The base of the TKP technoelast is fiberglass, which is covered on top with SBS bitumen and thermoplastic. The top layer is crumbs, and the bottom layer is film.
  • Technoelast XPP is a waterproofing material that is mainly used as a bottom layer for roofing, foundation, swimming pool, etc. It is resistant to frost and heat.
  • TKP roll material consists of fiberglass coated with SBS-modified bitumen and filler, and film. Due to the absence of polyester and crumbs, it has the smallest thickness - 3 mm.

Disadvantages of technoelast:

  1. When installing, it is important that the surface is level.
  2. Small selection of colors.
  3. Burner heating takes longer.
  4. The cost is above average.

Scope of application

Waterproofing with technoelast has gained great popularity for various construction work. Due to its technical characteristics, EPP technoelast is used primarily where protection against moisture penetration is needed. It is also used as a material for roofing carpet.

If repairs are necessary, technoelast is applied in one layer. If a new coating is needed, then two layers are required. At the same time, the top layer looks quite attractive, which allows you to avoid unnecessary expenses on a decorated coating.

Installation and storage

For a long service life of waterproofing, it must not only be selected correctly, but also correctly laid and secured.

The sequence of work is as follows:

  1. The surface to which the technoelast will be attached must be thoroughly cleaned of dust. If there are potholes and holes, they should be cemented. Then degrease the surface of the structure.
  2. To ensure adhesion of the technoelast, the base must be coated or thinned bitumen mastic gasoline (proportions 1:3).
  3. At this step you need to roll out and cut the panel.
  4. Warm up the bottom layer gas burner and press to the base. All subsequent sheets are fused with an overlap of 9-10 cm.

Storing technoelast is quite easy. First of all, it should be placed in a room with dry air, which is well ventilated. Rolls should be placed on shelves in a vertical position and in such a way that they are away from heating devices at a distance of no closer than a meter.

If you need to ensure maximum waterproofing, then ideal solution There will be technoelast EPP. Specifications roll material allow you to serve reliably and for a long time.

Technoelastmost and Technoelast EPP 4.0 are made from a durable polyester base, onto which a polymer-bitumen binder, modified with SBS (styrene-butadiene-styrene) artificial rubber, is applied on both sides. The Technoelastmost material is covered with fine-grained sand on top and with an easily meltable anti-adhesive film with a pattern on the bottom. EPP 4.0 is covered with an easily meltable anti-adhesive film on both sides.

The modifier and base properties give the material properties such as:

- flexibility and elasticity: elongation of the material at break is more than 30%, elongation at break of the binder is more than 15 times, flexibility on a beam with a radius of 10 mm (“on the finger”) -25 ° C;

The heat resistance of the material is +100°C, which is 20-30°C higher than that of bitumen materials;

- excellent adhesion: to achieve cohesive (by material) separation there is no need to greatly overheat the material or base;

- easy, quick installation, comfortable to work with.

The base must be dried, cleaned of dust and dirt, and leveled. The surface must either be cleaned of cement laitance by sandblasting).

Important: Technoelastmost “B” is glued to an unprepared surface, but the tearing occurs along the surface of the base.

Easily glued to the base. The lower surface of the material is covered with a film with a special indicator pattern: when the “snowflakes have melted” under the influence of the burner flame, the material is ready for installation.

The procedure for fusing material onto a horizontal base:

1. 5-6 rolls are unrolled on the prepared base, and the rolls are tried on one another so as to ensure an overlap: 6-10 cm along the longitudinal side, at least 15 cm at the ends of the rolls.

2. After this, the material is rolled back into rolls.

3. The material is fused “on itself” with a gas-air burner: one worker heats the material, standing with his back to the direction of gluing, the second one rolls out the material, being on the side opposite to the overlap.

4. Heating is carried out by smooth movements of the burner so that uniform heating of the surface of the material is ensured. A good practice is to move the torch in an "L" pattern, adding additional heat to the area of the material that is overlapped.

5. To ensure 100% adhesion of the material to the base and the previous roll, it is necessary to achieve a small bead of polymer-bitumen binder at the point of contact of the material with the surface. A sign of good, proper heating of the material is the presence of a bead of polymer-bitumen flowing out from under the edge of the material. This roller also guarantees the tightness of the overlap. When insulating surfaces with a slope of more than 25%, it is necessary to roll the overlap with a roller to ensure its tightness.

6. On junctions (parapets, parts, etc.) of small height, you can use the “heat and stick” laying method: the material is heated, after which the burner is put aside and two or three workers glue the material to the entire surface at once.

7. To fuse materials onto vertical surfaces, for ease of work, it is recommended to cut the rolls into panels 1.5-2 meters long. If the height of the insulated surface is significant, the roll material is applied in tiers, starting from the bottom.
To secure waterproofing layers on each tier it is recommended to provide for the installation of wooden antiseptic slats in height every 1.5-2 m, i.e. according to the height of the working grips.

8. Burning of the material is unacceptable. Its signs are:

Boiling and abundant flow of polymer-bitumen binder, its leakage;

Strong smoke, fire of polymer-bitumen;

Liquefaction of the upper surface of the material when it “sinks” under its own weight, leaving black spots of bitumen;

- “ripples” on the surface of the material, which do not smooth out after cooling: in this case, partial destruction of the polyester base occurs.

In case of burnout, the defective insulation must be replaced.

Shoe marks that may remain on the hot material (immediately after fusing, on a hot sunny day) are not dangerous, since they usually smooth out after cooling. However, you can only walk on uncooled insulation in soft shoes without heels and metal objects on the soles. It is also undesirable to bet on the material gas cylinders and other heavy objects. If necessary, weight-distributing stands with a support of at least 50x50 are used.

"Premium" class, produced by TechnoNikol. Characterized by an increased degree of reliability.

Designed for the installation of a lining or top layer in the roofing carpet of buildings, waterproofing engineering structures, foundations, tunnels, ventilation shafts, swimming pools. Can be used in all climatic regions in accordance with SNiP 23-01-99 and on objects of any complexity.

Technological features

Fused bitumen-polymer waterproofing Technoelast TechnoNikol is a rolled sheet, on the base of which is applied on both sides bitumen composition with mineral additives - talc, dolomite, modified with SBS polymer (artificial rubber styrene-butadiene-styrene).

The top and bottom of the surface is covered with protective polymer films or granular shale chips. Polyester (polyester), fiberglass or fiberglass is used as a base.

Performance characteristics

The SBS polymer included in the composition gives the material elasticity and high temperature characteristics - frost resistance and heat resistance.

The flexibility of the canvas is maintained at temperatures down to -25°C, which allows you to work with it in winter.

The laid material does not lose its plasticity at temperatures down to -35°C, thereby eliminating fragility and violation of the tightness of the surface and joints. Technoelast

Heat resistance up to 100°C ensures the stability of the coating, preventing slipping due to solar overheating in hot climates.
