How to install an accordion door: do-it-yourself video and how to assemble, install a folding door, installation of interior styles. Installing an accordion door with your own hands from A to Z Assembling an accordion door - detailed instructions

The desire to make your home cozy, comfortable, and functional dictates the rules for choosing interior items. Interior doors serve as a means of separating zones, protection, and sound insulation.

The standard swing design does not always fit easily into the dimensions of the house. Space saving is required. Sliding doors cope with this task. One of the varieties is the accordion door.

Until recently, the accordion was not considered an exquisite decoration. But technology is developing, which has made it possible to make the accordion door a modern element in the interior. Is it possible to install an accordion door with your own hands? Will there be any difficulties or is it easy to do everything yourself? Let's talk about this by looking at the design features of accordion panels.

Knowing some subtleties, you can install an accordion door with your own hands.

According to the layout principle, the accordion door is similar to its accordion item of the same name. The canvases, one after another, smoothly fold or straighten like accordion bellows. They help save room space because when they open, they reduce their size by two to three times, remaining in the opening. There is, of course, an inconvenience if the doorway is narrow, and even the panels reduce its width. But in general, this is compensated by the ability to reduce the presence of the facade in small room.

The accordion door looks aesthetically pleasing in any design.

Today, the accordion door has become relevant not only as a economical option, but also individual designer decor. The accordion layout system is used for shower cabins, protecting the premises from water; for cabinets that are installed in narrow rooms; for dressing rooms, hiding them behind exquisite decor. Accordion doors can divide space like interior partitions, folding along the entire length and completely opening the room, if necessary.

Factories produce different models accordion doors based on the internal filling of the panels. These can be MDF panels, plastic, fabric, mirror, glass, or less often wood. Solid wood is a heavy material, even when perfectly dried. The fittings may simply not withstand heavy fabrics. If solid wood is used in the production of accordions, it is with a reinforced system for running the blade on rails or using veneer on a thin base.

The design features of accordion doors are not varied. These are rectangular canvases different sizes. Width starts from 100 mm and more. The smallest opening that will allow you to install an accordion door should not be narrower than 600 mm. The rest is a matter of imagination and the width of the opening.

It is necessary to choose high-quality structures that have a reliable foundation. The frame of the panels must be rigid so that it does not fall apart under accidental force.

Accessories for accordion doors can be purchased at any specialized department.

The fittings are always sold as a set; they can only vary in the number of panels depending on the width of the opening. The accordion package always includes an upper guide and a roller system. For massive structures, a bottom rail is also used so that the product does not sag under heavy load. The lower part is usually recessed into the floor and does not interfere with the movement of users.

Installation does not require a door frame, as when installing swing interior doors. The jamb can be ennobled in advance decorative coatings or closed with extras purchased independently. Otherwise there should be no problems during installation. Therefore, you can install an accordion door yourself without overpaying the craftsmen. We will help you master the installation of the structure if you decide to do everything yourself.

Installation sequence for the accordion door

As with any installation, at the first stage they prepare the opening and buy an accordion door the right size. If with facades installed in a box, the size may have errors (the mounting foam will cover everything), when installing a sliding accordion, we determine the dimensions after preparing the opening.

Do-it-yourself door installation.

Minimal gaps are needed only at the top and bottom of the canvas for ease of movement of the accordion along the rails.

  1. After dismantling the old set and preparing the opening, we take measurements of the height and width. The store sells an accordion door in a set of the number of panels corresponding to the width of the future structure. But you will have to adjust the height of the panels and the length of the guide according to the location. Sometimes an accordion is used to cover a space more than a meter wide. Then a double-leaf accordion can be chosen, i.e. the doors will open right/left at the same time so that the structure is not heavy.
  2. Before you start installing the accordion door with your own hands, decide in which direction you need to open the facade.
  3. Options for installing top fittings.
  4. You can install the guide using self-tapping screws by first drilling holes in in the right places, installing dowels under the fasteners.
  5. We measure the width of the opening, cut off the required length if the profile is larger than necessary.
  6. Install the strip to the top surface of the opening. If there are no holes, make them yourself using a drill and a drill bit of the required diameter.
  7. We install the vertical profiles in the same way, sawing off the height if necessary.
  8. The second method of installing horizontal and vertical profiles with your own hands is distinguished by the presence of clip-locks that allow you to snap the bar into place using a mallet.
  9. Drill holes in the wall, install the bottom part of the clip. Attach the other half of the lock to the profile.
  10. Connect the clips by lightly pressing the bar or tapping with a mallet.
  11. Similarly, we install the profile vertically on both sides.

Assembling the accordion door

Perhaps, assembling the panels into a single piece is the most painstaking part of installing an accordion door with your own hands. The instructions supplied with the product must be followed exactly.

Accordion door installation diagram.

A step-by-step illustration will allow you to correctly assemble the panels yourself.

  1. We take measurements of the height of the opening.
  2. We measure the required length on the canvas, making allowances for the depth of the profile, leaving a gap from the floor.
  3. We cut off the excess, repeating the procedure with all panels.
  4. Let's move on to connecting the panels to each other. For this purpose, special hinges are provided that allow the door to fold and open again. Depending on the weight of the panels and permissible load two or three connecting loops can be installed on the surfaces.
  5. Lay out the canvases in the desired sequence on the floor. They must fit tightly against each other so that no gaps appear in the hung position.
  6. Check the compatibility of the panels along the top and bottom lines.
  7. We drill holes for fastening with a loop. Sometimes the hinges are replaced by an end and vertical profile, which allows you to combine the elements of an accordion door with your own hands in a matter of minutes. You just need to follow the recommendations in the printed instructions.
  8. The accordion door kit includes metal mount, into which all the canvases are inserted one after another, forming a single plane.
  9. A roller or several rollers are placed at the end of the profile under the facade, allowing the entire canvas to move without problems.
  10. When assembling the accordion into a single structure, pay attention to the location of the outer panels. The lock part will contain a lock and a handle. The edge panel will fit into a vertical profile installed on the wall of the opening.
  11. Having assembled a single canvas, we proceed to the stage of hanging the accordion on the guide profile at the top of the opening.
  12. Sometimes it is difficult to insert the rollers and stoppers into the guide due to the close location of the jamb. Then there is an option to install the guide profile only on the middle screw, so that it becomes possible to move it to the side to insert the fasteners into the groove.
  13. We return the profile to its place.
  14. We check the operation of the accordion door. Movement should be light and silent.

Installing handle and lock

At the final stage, you need to secure the handle, lock, included in the kit or purchased independently. Typically the lock is magnetic, but some consumers want the door to lock securely.

  1. On the outer panel of the accordion on the side of the lock, the necessary technological holes are made for the lock and handle. We first make markings for fitting the door hardware. The handle should be slightly offset from the edge of the accordion door, because the panel fits into the vertical profile, tightly adjacent to the wall. Close installed handle may prevent the accordion door from sealing tightly.
  2. Once again we check that the blade runs smoothly and that there are no cracks or distortions.
  3. When choosing an accordion interior door with a system of upper and lower profiles included, it is necessary to secure the bottom rail before installing the door leaf.
  4. It is usually recessed into the floor in the threshold area. The length corresponds to the width of the opening.
  5. When installing, the bottom set of wheels is wound up first and then connected to the top rail.
  6. Floors must be perfectly level. If there are unevenness or slopes, it is necessary to level the surface to avoid failure of the accordion door.
  7. After completing the installation of the accordion door with your own hands, take care of the decorative trim around interior portal on both sides.

If this is not necessary, the DIY installation process can be considered complete.

If your choice is in favor of an accordion door, you need to buy it correctly so that installing it yourself will be a pleasure and not a problem.

  • Buy an accordion door in accordance with the interior, taking into account the technical features of the rooms.
  • You should not take an accordion door if the opening is only 500 mm. In the open position, there will be difficulties when moving from one space to another. You will always be faced with a folded door.
  • Correctly calculate the number of panels required for installation in the interior opening.
  • Don't try to save money when buying an accordion door, because a cheap door won't last long. The production uses cheap plastic and weak fittings that cannot withstand heavy daily loads.
  • Buy a few extra panels in case of unexpected damage to the canvas elements. It will be easy to replace a damaged one with your own hands if the panel is available. Production is constantly updated, old models are discontinued. An additional element will prevent the seller from missing the required part.

Having met detailed instructions, installing an accordion door with your own hands should not cause any difficulties. To reinforce the information, we recommend watching the video with detailed recommendations.

General operating principle and appearance of folding doors

Externally, accordion doors are lamellas of different widths, usually from 10–15 cm, which are connected to each other using hinges. IN assembled form they resemble blinds. Another main difference between them and swing doors is the presence of guides, usually upper, less often lower. Besides standard doors accordions with slats in the form of blinds, there are other models on the market that are no less popular. For example, accordion or “book” doors of 2 sections. Due to the smaller number of folding elements, this design is considered more reliable and less likely to jam, which is typical for cheap multi-section plastic accordions. Smooth sliding along the guides is ensured by movable slider rollers, and fixation of the canvas in the selected position is ensured by stopper flags.

Standard configurations consist of 3–4 sections, and can also be equipped with additional sections if it is necessary to expand the doorway. There is an opinion that accordion doors look cheap and do not fit well with the interior. The usual folding curtain doors made of plastic really look like this, but options made of wood, glass and aluminum, on the contrary, are presented in a wide range of models. IN construction stores can also be found combined options with stained glass windows, metal and wooden frames, all glass sliding structures. Here everything depends on your taste preferences, financial capabilities and the width of the doorway.

A little about door materials, their advantages and disadvantages

Let's start with analysis plastic structures.According to the principle of assembly and fastening to the wall, such structures are as follows:

  • assembled on one side and inserted into the guides;
  • disappear into the wall, the doors go into a niche plasterboard construction, which is pre-installed;
  • made in the form of a book, assembled from two canvases of the same size, which are moved apart in one movement.

When purchasing folding doors made from PVC panels, consider the following features: the fastening between the panels is also made of plastic. Therefore, the fewer lamellas, the greater the strength and service life of the structure. PVC doors help to delimit space, but they are not capable of insulating a room from noise and cold. When installing such doors, you should strictly adhere to horizontal position and double-check the accuracy of the level several times. Otherwise, the misalignment will create an increased load on the roller mechanism, stoppers and hinges, which will lead to rapid wear and failure.

Instead of sliding structures from plastic, experts recommend wooden analogues. To ensure that the sliding door is not heavy, soft wood, such as pine, is used for its manufacture. Sections of canvases are connected to each other not by soft hinged profiles, but by hinges of a hidden or open type. Instead of natural wood For the manufacture of canvases, MDF panels with a blank facade or glass and metal inserts are used. In order not to worry about the shrinkage of solid wood panels, we recommend purchasing doors made from glued timber. If you want to fill the room with light and expand the space, you can use an accordion. They can be made entirely of glass or with metal and wood inserts.

If we put together the advantages of high-quality folding doors, we can highlight the following advantages:

  • visual expansion of space;
  • saving room space by moving the canvas across the opening;
  • lightness of doors due to design features;
  • ease of installation;
  • wide variety of models in design and price.

Among the disadvantages of such interior doors are the lack of proper heat and sound insulation, the fragility of multi-section and cheap plastic structures, and rapid failure with intensive use and careless handling.

Preparing the doorway for installation - what needs to be done at this stage?

Before installing the accordion door, quite often the old door frames are not dismantled. On the one hand, this simplifies the installation process and reduces the time for additional work. However, the old box was assembled under an old door with a different type of structure and takes up a lot of the usable width of the opening, which is required to install the guides. Therefore, we recommend dismantling the old door frame and also knocking down the layer old plaster down to the base (concrete, brick). Only after such preparation do we take measurements of the opening and purchase the desired model of a folding door.

In order not to increase or, on the contrary, reduce the opening, try to select models that are as close as possible to the size of your opening. We install doors at final stage repair when finishing work will be completely completed. Let's start assembling a new one door frame no threshold. We saw off the rack parts of the box with gaps of 3 mm at the top and 10 mm at the bottom. Upper part We saw off the posts at an angle of 45°. To ensure an even angle without distortion, use a miter saw. As a last resort, if such a tool is not at hand, we use a regular saw or grinder and a square. We saw off the lower part of the stand at a right angle. We perform similar operations with the second rack. If the design of your folding door involves hanging hinges on the door frame, for example, when installing a wooden panel like a book, we do it under the card hinges seats and attach one part of the hinges to the screws. Pre-drill holes for screws. This will prevent the wood from chipping and cracking. To connect the side parts of the box to each other, we use a crossbar, sawing it off on both sides at an angle of 45°. When calculating the length of the crossbar, we take into account the gaps between the door frame and the wall of 1 cm on each side.

We assemble the finished parts of the door frame on flat surface. To connect, we drill holes for self-tapping screws diagonally in the upper part of the structure. We do this using a drill with a diameter of 2–2.5 mm. It is more convenient to drill holes for self-tapping screws with a countersink. This will allow the screws to penetrate deeper and fix in the box. From each end of the upper corners of the box we drill two diagonal holes for self-tapping screws. After preparing the holes, screw the screws into them.

We mount the prepared box in the doorway. We insert spacer bars and wedges 1 cm thick between the door frame and the wall. This will allow us to fix the position of the door frame and prevent it from slipping during fastening. Using dowel screws, we fix the position of the box in the opening. There should be at least 4-5 fasteners on each side. Seal the gaps between the door frame and the wall polyurethane foam, wait until it hardens. In the meantime, let's get acquainted with the step-by-step instructions for assembling accordion doors specified by the manufacturer and carry out necessary work on assembly.

Basic instructions for assembling and installing accordion doors

After installing the door frame, we begin further work by preparing the main guide profile, which is included in the kit. To adjust it to the dimensions we need, we measure the width of the doorway, which was obtained after installing the door frame, and measure this distance on the profile, make a mark and cut off the excess with a miter box. We perform similar operations with the guides on the sides, if they are provided for in the installation of your door. After adjusting the guides to the dimensions of your opening, we first apply them without fastening, and see if we have measured everything accurately. Now we drill holes for the screws in the guides. The step between fasteners should be 15–20 cm. Knowing the distance between fasteners, we determine the total number of screws. We drill holes for them with a diameter of 3 mm.

The guides are installed. We move on to preparing the lamellas or sheets, depending on the design of your accordion. We measure the height of the opening and cut off the excess part of the strips. At the same time, do not forget to take into account the gap of 5–8 mm under the door, which is necessary for ventilation. When cutting the canvas or lamellas, carefully measure everything again, and also read in more detail the recommendations of the manufacturer of your accordion model. Remember, when closing the door, it must fully reach the opposite door without a gap.

Now let's move on to assembling the doors. Here again everything depends on the model and design you choose. Let's look at the two most common examples - classic lamellas made of plastic or MDF and an accordion like a book of two sections. Plastic strips They are connected to each other using grooves, and from MDF - through a longitudinal axis that passes through the eyes of each lamella. Book-type canvases of two or more sections are usually made of natural wood or MDF. They are connected to each other using loops. They can be either hidden or end-mounted. We have already talked in more detail about attaching hinges in step by step wizard class pro. Before fixing the hinges, the holes for the screws also need to be drilled.

We insert slider rollers into the guide profile and fix them. Hanging assembled door. We roll the canvas to the end and tighten all the fasteners, install the stoppers. We finally fix the side guides and screw the assembled sheet to the left or right edge of the profile. On the opposite side from the blind side we attach a handle and a lock to the canvas. Let's check the mechanism in action.

The final stage of work is the installation of platbands. As in the case of the box, we cut off the edges of the crossbar and the upper parts of the racks at 45°. You can attach platbands in different ways. Most often, regular or liquid nails are used. The second option provides a more reliable fixation, but subsequently dismantling such platbands is quite problematic. As you can see, installing an accordion is not so difficult; the main thing is to adhere to the manufacturer’s recommendations and general rules.

Carrying out repairs in own apartment, many have to solve a fairly pressing problem - optimizing space. This question is especially relevant for those who live in small spaces, where truly every square centimeter counts.

A sliding interior door in this sense is quite an excellent solution - after all, it does not need much space to open, but at the same time it performs all the main functions quite well. In this regard, many citizens who want to save money on craftsmen are interested in: how to install an accordion door with your own hands? This article is dedicated to this topic.

What materials are used to make accordion doors?

It should be noted, among other things, that in general this type of door requires the use of materials that are as light as possible. These include, in particular:

  • aluminum;
  • plastic.

Each of the above materials has its own advantages and disadvantages. So, MDF:

  • does not tolerate scratches well;
  • high humidity;
  • Easily deformed if stored incorrectly.

On the other hand, its sound insulation is much better.

Products made from plastic are:

  • very light;
  • cleans well from dirt;
  • serve for a long time.

But sounds pass through them almost unhindered.

According to the craftsmen, with the latter option you have to suffer much less during installation. Individual elements easy to adjust and connect. The finished doors are easily adjustable. Subsequently, repairing them is quite simple, if the main structural elements have not been destroyed. However, in the latter case, you will need to change the canvas completely - this is another serious drawback of the model in question.

MDF is a relatively heavy material, which is why the accordion door often jams. Moreover, the entire structure requires reliable fastening and careful alignment. Ignoring these requirements leads to rapid failure of the product.

Be that as it may, installing a folding door of this design is quite easy. However, it would be better to call another person to help - this way the work will go faster.

Equipment and tools

All necessary details for fastening doors are sold together with it. You will have to buy separately:

  • box;
  • extras;
  • platbands.

At the same time, the thickness of the box elements must be sufficient (at least 1.5 centimeters), because this is necessary so that it can withstand the weight of the folding sheet itself. A number of tools will be required for the job. Their list is as follows:

  • hammer drill (or impact drill):
  • roulette;
  • spirit level;
  • plumb line;
  • hacksaw (with wood saw);
  • miter box (for correct cuts);
  • carpenter's square;
  • polyurethane foam;
  • wooden bars.

Preparatory work

First of all, you need to prepare the opening. The old door is dismantled along with the frame. The walls, lintel and base are cleaned of sealant and mortar. Measure its “clean” dimensions. Use them to purchase a suitable door.

It is worth noting that they are manufactured according to existing standards in the country, so choose the right option it won’t be difficult if you made your opening based on them.

First of all, assemble the box. As you know, interior doors are now made without thresholds - for this reason the existing flooring no need to touch. True, sometimes it happens that an old type product is dismantled, delivered back in Soviet times. Here you will have to seal the resulting depression.

The vertical elements of the box are attached to the top crossbar with self-tapping screws, directly at the ends. The U-shaped box made in this way is installed in the opening. There it is fixed with pieces of timber, leveled and finally secured with anchor dowels. Two pieces are required at the top, 3 on the sides.

How to do the installation correctly

The kit should contain a part called a guide - this is a special profile along which the vertical slats that make up the accordion will move. It is extremely important to accurately measure and trim the excess part. In order not to make a mistake, you will need a miter box. By using of this device The cutting angle will be perfectly straight.

In the same way, the profile by which the blind part of the folding is attached tightly to the box is adjusted to the existing dimensions. It is simply placed in place and the incision point is marked. In the upper element you will also need to make holes for screws with a pitch length of up to 7 centimeters. On the vertical, the distance is already up to 20 cm.

Assembly of the canvas

Some manufacturers supply the door itself already assembled. It would be more advisable to choose this option for yourself - this will save a lot of time.

If you have to assemble, then you will need to connect all the vertical plates that make up the canvas together with special rods. Next you will need:

  • install the panel with the lock (right);
  • fixing vertical bar (left);
  • install runners;
  • install a magnetic lock.

All the necessary drawings are included in the door kit; it is advisable to read them carefully so as not to make any mistakes.

An MDF product is assembled a little differently. Vertical slats are connected at such doors with a long pin - you need to carefully string all the elements onto it through the holes in them. Only after the canvas itself has been assembled can you begin installing the rollers and other accessories.

Installation

Completely assembled door leaf connected to the guide and installed in the center of the opening in folded form. The profile is fixed to the box with screws along the previously prepared holes. After installation is completed, you should check whether the door moves easily enough and whether it fits tightly to the frame.

The last thing left to do is to install the platbands. They will allow you to hide traces of installation and add a finished and elegant look to the entire structure. The planks are cut from above at an oblique angle (45 degrees). Then they are attached to the box with special nails without heads or glue.

To protect a room, or divide it into zones, they are often used modern designs, one of which is the accordion door. It is especially convenient when it is difficult to fit a standard swing structure into the dimensions of the house. The article suggests getting to know what types of accordion doors there are and how to install them yourself.

Accordion folding doors are more of a rigid curtain. Such products, having a number of advantages, have a large number of disadvantages.

The main design features are summarized in the table:

Types of accordion doors

Products may differ in material of manufacture and some design features.

They are:

  • Deaf. For their manufacture, a solid array of any opaque material is used.

  • With glass inserts. Such accordion doors have a more aesthetic appearance, but also less strength, which reduces their service life.

  • Made of plastic. Most often, these are not very durable products. In addition to the canvas itself, which is made of plastic, many fittings are made from the same material, which also does not have a long service life.

  • Made of wood. It's more durable designs. They do not have plastic parts, and the most wearing parts are made of metal.

Tip: When choosing a design for installation with your own hands, preference should be given wooden options. They are more attractive appearance, and durable structural elements. In addition, wood is less susceptible to temperature changes than plastic.

Accordion doors can have different quantities folding fragments, which depends on the dimensions of the opening.

Accordion door design

Installing an accordion door with your own hands begins with becoming familiar with its design.

The diagram shows that the product consists of:

  • Top guide – pos. 1st century
  • Two side guides: left – pos. 1a and right – pos. 1b.
  • Two half-panels: right and left – pos. 3.
  • Main panels – pos. 5.
  • Connecting joint – pos. 4.
  • Docking rail – pos. 2.
  • Panels with lock – pos. 6.
  • Runners - pos. 7, designed to move the door leaf.
  • Stoppers - pos. 8, for fixing the door leaf.
  • Self-tapping screws - pos. 11, for fastening the guide rail.
  • Handles – pos. 9, to close the door.
  • Latches - pos. 10.

Design selection

To avoid problems when installing the accordion door, and for it to fit harmoniously into the opening and into the interior of the room, it is necessary to choose the right model.

To do this, you should follow some recommendations:

  • You need to purchase an accordion door in accordance with the interior of the room, taking into account technical features adjacent rooms.
  • You should not install an accordion door in an opening 0.5 meters wide. In the open position it will be difficult to move from one room to another.
  • You need to correctly calculate the number of canvases needed for a specific interior opening.
  • You should not save when buying a product, who does not know that the stingy pays twice. In cheap models, plastic is used in production low quality and fragile fittings that cannot withstand heavy and frequent loads.

Tip: When purchasing a kit for an accordion door, you need to take the panels with a reserve in case of unexpected damage to the elements of the panel. This will allow you to quickly replace the damaged panel if necessary. Production is constantly updated, old models are discontinued, and the presence of an additional element will avoid a situation when a part needs to be replaced, but it is not on sale.

Tools and materials for door installation

Typically, a set of doors of this design contains everything you need, including fasteners and some spare parts. In addition, many manufacturers add additional slats to the kit, which allow you to independently increase the size of the accordion door leaf, which is especially important if you have a wide door opening.

In addition to the kit, additional materials will be needed to install the accordion door. Their list is determined during the preparation and subsequent finishing of the doorway.

In any case, you need to purchase:

  • . At the same time, their thickness is chosen to be more than 15 mm, which will allow the door to be securely held during operation.
  • Perforator to increase door openings.
  • Construction level.
  • Plumb.
  • Impact electric drill.
  • Angle 90°.

The new entrance is installed quickly enough, while saving money. Where accordion doors can be installed, everyone decides for themselves, taking into account the ease of use and safety for all family members.

Preparing the opening

Assembly instructions for the accordion door do not require dismantling old box. But in this case, the width of the opening is significantly reduced.

Tip: Before installing the accordion door, so as not to reduce the door opening, you should remove the frame old door, and then knock off the peeling plaster until concrete slab or brickwork.

After this:

  • Measurements of the opening are taken.

  • Purchase the model you like.

  • The need is determined. They may be needed to reduce or increase the doorway.
  • After final assembly boxes along with accessories, it is carefully inserted inside the opening. Fixed in the desired position wooden blocks and wedges.

Tip: For installation with the greatest accuracy, it is necessary to install the maximum number of wedges, and select their length approximately equal to the width of the doorway. This will prevent deformation of the box when fastening it with anchors, dowels or blowing with foam.

  • Holes are drilled inside the box through which it is attached inside the opening with long anchor bolts or dowels. The optimal number of such fastenings on each side is 5 anchors.
  • The cavities between the wall and the extensions are foamed.

Assembling the door leaf

The photo shows the technology for assembling the leaf for an accordion door:

  • Based on the dimensions of the resulting box, panels for the manufacture of sashes are marked.
  • When using wood or lumber, the ends of the elements are processed with fine sandpaper.
  • Surfaces are wiped free of dust.
  • The edge is glued.
  • The installation locations of the fittings are marked.
  • In the designated places of the outer panel, holes are drilled for metal axes at the top and bottom.
  • The axles are attached.
  • On last panel a roller runner is installed.
  • The canvases are laid on the table or floor in the order they are connected.
  • There are three hinges between the panels. To avoid distortion, and then the formation of cracks in the canvases, loops of the same level must be placed at the same height.
  • The canvases are fastened so that after the door opening is fully opened, a gap of three millimeters remains between the elements.

Installation of the structure

After preparing the opening and assembling the door leaf, the work is performed in the following sequence:

  • According to a given size, corresponding to the width of the door opening, reduced by 4 mm, the rail is cut with a hacksaw.
  • Holes for fastening are drilled into the parts in increments of 30 centimeters.
  • The guide is fixed with one screw at either end so that it remains movable.
  • The latch is mounted: the axis of the end panel is inserted into it, and the carriage slider is inserted.

  • The door leaf is installed and hung. To do this, a guide fixed to one self-tapping screw is moved to the side and support plates are inserted into it.
  • Folds like an accordion assembled panels and rise with the carriages up.
  • The panels are inserted into the groove of the guide profile.

  • The guide is put in place and finally screwed to the door leaf with self-tapping screws.
  • The operation of the moving mechanisms and the smooth movement of the panels are checked.
